Kelly Pavlik Could Beat Them All?

Good post, agreed.Hey, I'm not taking one damn thing from Taylor after THAT fight. He's a good, classy kid, that was led astray with a BAD gameplan. I hope he makes a comeback. I just see the writing on the wall when it comes to Pavlik.
I will concede that a different gameplan making the most of Taylor's natural skills, ie..boxing from the outside, ring movement, working the angles, is much better than going straight on against Pavlik. This would have at least given him a chance for a UD. IN the rematch, IMO we will find this to be the gameplan (he won't try and get inside Pavlik's length to go elbow to elbow because that's not in Taylor's arsenal). But, in the end, though he might make a better show for himself, Pavlik's ferocious JAB will control the fight. IMOComment

Taylor fought the best fight he could, but his best wasn't good enough, its that simple. I do not belive Taylor has the tools to beat Pavlik short of a knock-out, no matter the game plan.
Also, tall lanky fighters tend to retain their power as they move up in weight. Tommy Hearns kept his power all the way to crusier. Kelly Pavlik would have no problems retaining his power has he moves up in weight.Comment

Absolutely agree.
Kelly needs to stay at 160 where he has a tremendous advantage.
Power aside, Chad is just too athletic.
The jab-right worked on Jermain because Jermain is really not a "retreating" fighter.
Chad moves in all angles and would slice Kelly up like a thanksgiving turkey.
Not disrespecting, Kelly. He's a helluva fighter. But he has nothing to bring to the table against Dawson except a punchers chance.Comment

i got two things to say
ya well i agree with kayjay because abraham is soo goddam underrated and secondly
everyone talking about how floyd isa greedy bastard cannot go around and call jermaine classy because that boy is greedy and ****y.....done.Comment

There is no reason for Kelly to move up at all.
But if they met at 168, per say.
Chad by KO.Comment

Yeah, but with regard to your Pavlik weight observation: Why would he move up to take on larger guys when he's so effective at MW? (the money notwithstanding). Pavlik may retain his power at cruiser, but it's the OTHER GUYS' power that would concern me.Taylor fought the best fight he could, but his best wasn't good enough, its that simple. I do not belive Taylor has the tools to beat Pavlik short of a knock-out, no matter the game plan.
