Kelly Pavlik Could Beat Them All?

I just don't see Dawson smoking Pavlik. Not saying it's impossible. But, I just don't see the probability of it. In my view, Pavlik's jab dominates this fight too.

Dawson has a great jab too. I think Dawson would have an edge in a jabbing contest.

Absolutely agree.

Kelly needs to stay at 160 where he has a tremendous advantage.

Power aside, Chad is just too athletic.

The jab-right worked on Jermain because Jermain is really not a "retreating" fighter.

Chad moves in all angles and would slice Kelly up like a thanksgiving turkey.

Not disrespecting, Kelly. He's a helluva fighter. But he has nothing to bring to the table against Dawson except a punchers chance.

IMO only a boxer with the same or greater physical attributes can reasonably take Pavlik on from the outside...ie..height, reach, and chin. This is why at MW Pavlik is so formidable, because physically he is so imposing. Who is out there that can meet this standard? I cannot think of any.

For this reason, at MW, it is going to take someone who is adept at getting inside and going elbow to elbow to beat Pavlik. The person that beats Pavlik, IMO, will do it by getting inside his length and power. I have yet to see Dawson play this game. That's why I see Pavlik's jab dominating Dawson like it dominated Taylor. Just my opinion, ok? Peace.

I see him beating all of these guys other then maybe Kessler or JC. I think he would have a good chance against either man though, and I would actually pick him in a close one against Kessler.

What is Dawson's reach? And, I'm not sure at all about the hand speed comment...not at all. And, last but definitely not least is the chin issue. Who has the better chin? It's kind of funny I saw Dawson fight Saturday night and it was commentated that Dawson does not have a good chin. Where did that observation come from?

Dawson went down against both Harding and Adamek when he fought them.

Dawson definately does have hand speed advantage over Pavlik, he is quick.

I don't know his reach off-hand though, sorry.

Dawson is faster than Taylor IMO, by a lot. I've never been enamored with Taylor's speed.

Dawson kind of reminds me of Roy Jones at 175 to be honest, but with better technique.

Also, please remember that they would not be fighting at 160, so Pavlik's power would be diminshed by some level, depending on which weight they fought at.

Dawson would run the game.

I believe Dawson would hold about a 2-3 inch reach advantage over Pavlik but the reach isn't really what I base my prediction off of.

It's his athleticism. While Taylor is athletic, he wasn't big enough to come over the top of Kelly's jab. Chad would be doing this all night long.
Also, there is NO comparision to hand speed between Dawson and Pavlik. Chad is that much quicker. And compared to Taylor's defense, Chad is pretty elusive. During the rounds, people have literally came back to the corner and tell their trainer, "I can't hit him."

He had two FLASH knockdowns against Harding and Adamek, never hurt. Got back up and it was business as usual. Domination.
