Dawson kind of reminds me of Roy Jones at 175 to be honest, but with better technique.

Also, please remember that they would not be fighting at 160, so Pavlik's power would be diminshed by some level, depending on which weight they fought at.

      Dawson would run the game.
That's a strange comment coming from a person who believes Floyd's win over Oscar was so great because Oscar was "a much bigger man." Pavlik's power would not be affected negatively. The Dawson I've seen does not remind of RJonesJr at all.

It's his athleticism. While Taylor is athletic, he wasn't big enough to come over the top of Kelly's jab. Chad would be doing this all night long.
Also, there is NO comparision to hand speed between Dawson and Pavlik. Chad is that much quicker. And compared to Taylor's defense, Chad is pretty elusive. During the rounds, people have literally came back to the corner and tell their trainer, "I can't hit him."

He had two FLASH knockdowns against Harding and Adamek, never hurt. Got back up and it was business as usual. Domination.
IF you're right about the reach issue, then Dawson would have a 4-6 inch reach advantage over Taylor.. Not sure Taylor's arms are that short. We may have to dig out the stats to resolve this one.

Yes, Floyd's biggest win was over Oscar.

De La Hoya still has decent hand speed, power, and boxing skills. Stamina has always been a factor but Oscar is a pretty complete fighter. And at 154 for Mayweather to put on all that weight (Floyd doesn't have the larger frame) and get a W against a little past his best BUT a pretty live fighter is impressive. But what's most impressive with Floyd is his style is and has trumped every different type of fighter he's faced. Ricky's going to bring one more style in that he's running straight in. It's going to be interesting.

Dawson bares resemblence to Jones in that, he's quick and elusive. He'll hit you and be out of there before you can react. Against Adamek he was punishing him the entire fight but got caught being lazy in the 10th round. Harding caught him with a flash in the opening seconds. Apart from that, he's in and out and when he unloads all the opponents can do is cover up.

With Kelly, what you see is what you get. And it's pretty good.
He's coming to you and he's throwing the jab (or double-jab) and then the right. I was however impressed with his finishing skills against Jermain. However, he's not throwing those punches in the center of the ring.
Chad IS. All angles, an arsenal of punches, at all speeds. That equals disaster to Kelly Pavlik.

Calzaghe & Froch would make Pavlik look ******, styles make fights. Froch has to much power and would take atleast 4 rounds to work out his style, Froch would knockout him out in the early rounds he would leave his chin far to open.

If anyone on this planet thinks Bernard Hopkins can't do Kelly Pavlik like he did Felix Trinidad you'd be in for a rude awakening. Hopkins loves it when a stalker is after him. Combine that with Pavlik's predictable sequencing of punches and you have yourself a massacre.

And I don't need to be reminded Hopkins is old.

                  Pavlik isn't exactly Brair Rabbit.
Word Addy. Now Calzaghe is an absolutely impossible fight for Pavlik, Hopkins is the next most difficult one. That's just a bad matchup.

Hopkins is 40 years old and not near as quik as he needs to be. If Taylor had moments against bernard so would Kelly and we all know how many Moments Kelly needs to turn the lights out dont we!

Why do you think this? Hopkins could barely contend with Taylor and in fact opted not to try to punch with him and try to wear the kid out in both fights.

Pavlik got Taylor out in 7 rounds, Hopkins couldn't have got rid of Taylor if he had 15 rounds. I like Hopkins, but he is way on the downside of his career, I don't think he won the fight with Winky Wright at all, it was closer to a draw in my view.

Uhuh, a massacre, if that's the case, then why didn't he do that to Taylor? Even with Taylors hand speed he couldn't catch Pavlik enough cause of Pavliks reach, watch the sequence leading up to the knockout...

Standing in the middle of the ring Pavlik throws a jab and then a right that blasts Taylor, Taylor manages to hit him back with the left but Pavlik is able to make it a glancing blow because he pulls away and is really out of range.

On top of this, Pavlik can take a punch, Hopkins really doesn't have punching power anymore.

The only people on that list I would think would be a problem would be Kessler and Calzaghe. Calzaghe because of his hand speed and Kessler because he is a big guy and a puncher.
