because the Cotto-Mosley winner and Mayweather-Hatton winners will almost certainly meet (why wouldn't they? any of the above 2 winners in a fight together is HUGE money wise and in half unifying the Welter division) Cotto-Hatton, Mosley-Hatton, Cotto-PBF, Mosley-PBF .. you get the idea

P-Will is shooting himself in the foot .. by not more actively trying to get a fight with Kermit Cintron

granted Cintron is busy (fight coming up in November)

but why completly write him off as a potential opponent?

    o well maybe in 2008.
    Valid points made here.

Paul Williams has only had the belt a short time. Lets give him a chance to make some money first.

I'm just looking for opinions here.

I do wonder though whether staying in a division where more than likely, NONE of the top WW will face him is (Probably for fear of losing. An 82" reach is serious business.) smart, both financially and for his resume.

IMO, I doubt many of the top WW would be willing to see him in the ring for varying reasons. As much, with the advantages he has it would seem to me he'd better challange himself if he advanced.

          Any thoughts?

he should stay at WW i think kermit has a solid chance against him that could help his popularity. at 154 maybe ouma but he should let is he body determine where he fight happen it will a be a big deal when an undefeated WW goes to middleweight.. give him some time

That is not my point. I know he has a shot and so do most if not all of the other ww. My point is how many do you see scramming to fight him? When was his last fight?

The men in this division are not going to risk their 0, their legacy etc. and step in the ring with a man who is 6'2 with an 82" reach. As far as power, I doubt that Williams is MORE powerful than most, moreso comparably powerful. Also, with as many punches as he threw against Marg, he landed in the low 20 percents or upper teens if I am not mistaken. Do not allow punch volume to confuse. It may look like a lot, but how accurate? How powerful? He should have been capable of KO'ing Tony with as many hits as he threw.

I like Williams. I think he would be better challenged in that more of the best would be willing to take him on if he advanced is all.

I think Williams should stay at WW and beat the top names. he can clean out the division. You guys may call it crazy, but I suggested this on another board... What would Williams/Pavlik look like at 160. I think Williams handspeed and size would trouble Pavlik. Williams has a decent chin. Pavlik would be at a size and speed disadvantage. He'd have advantages in power and that 160 is his natural weight.

No reason for a rematch. Margarito only had like 3 good rounds. I don't think anyone can dispute that Williams clearly won the decision.
