De La Hoya 34yrs old
Baldomir 35 yrs old
Arturo Gatti 33 yrs old
Sharmba Mitchell 35 yrs old
These are the ages of the fighters at the time they met Mayweather.
Clealry past their best.
The only fighter he has fought in his prime was Zab Judah.Comment

Floyd's resume is better than Hatton's even if Tszyu was prime IMO.Comment

Whats all this importance with the WBC belt?
The belt means nothing when Arturo Gatti is in possesion of it for fux sake.
The alphabetty spaghetti belts are just trinkest these days.
Junior Witter holds the WBC belt.
Is he the best at 140?
NO!Comment

Hatton's signature win is older than all of them.
Cotto is fighting Mosley, who is older than all of them.
What's your point? I already said that you have to be old to be proven, and it's true.Comment

Okay, you labeled the problem correctly. What's your solution?
Should fighters be required to guess which prospects are going to be absolutely great? They would also have to be out of their "green" period, but not yet over-the-hill, and still have a few signature wins.
Sounds pretty damn impossible.Comment

Why don't the prospects fight each other like they used to?
I can handle Floyd and co fighting the Old guard.
What I can't handle is Floyd and his followers spouting **** that he is P4P king and that he is the greatest blah blah blah.
He isn't fit to wipe the Boots of Sugar Ray Robinson.
He has plenty of prospective challengers out there who are younger and hungrier than the likes of Oscar who are out for the payday.
I am a fan of Ricky Hatton I must admit but I can openly criticise his fights.
He was lucky to pull through against Collazo.
He gassed out against Urango.
The thing with Floyd is NOBODY icluding himself or his fans will accept he isn't what the hype machine makes him out to be.
He won the WBC belts but he hasn't faced the best opposition.
And how often has he defended his trinkets against any other prospects?
A true Champ takes on all-comers!Comment

Tell that to Bernard Hopkins and youth doesn't equate to primeComment

He just might be, Hatton won't fight him to find out.Comment
