Yeah that's Arum's Perception. The fight wasn't on PPV btw.

Also a host of PRIDE fighters signed UFC contracts and got their asses handed to them royally. Talk about international exposure.

The UFC is now the elite World MMA organization.

Look @ the Mark Kerr story...isnt Hughes retiring? Wonder why. BJ Penn only has like 11 or 14 wins right? I wouldnt doubt if hes living on credit. I used to train w/pros that made a few 100 thousand and its all pissed away now. Mid-Low level boxers dont make **** and MMA guys make less.

MMA=more danger and less pay...translation=bad career move.
I'm not talking UFC. I'm talking grappling.

NCAA tournaments sell out arenas in the midwest as well as other grappling events. Hell, The Arnold Classic is the biggest meeting place for martial arts in the midwest. If Arum is trying to get to those people, he has a hell of a time doing it.

Speaking of money, it makes no difference how much you make if vultures take it all away. I bet Diego Corrales made more in his career than the UFC guys, but he filed bankruptcy. As did Tyson. Leon Spinks works at McDonalds.

Name a top-level MMA guy who filed bankruptcy WHILE STILL ACTIVE. The way boxers are exploited and robbed is a ****ing disgrace.

Especially since their still listening to terrestrial radio out there. When does anything big happen in the mid west? They'll take whatever they can get.

Say what you want about Arum, at least give the man credit for giving a **** about boxing's future. He's old, has a ton of money and could easily continue to make money and live comfortably until he dies without paying much thought to improving boxing's status. Instead, he actually talks about things like getting young people excited about boxing and taking back some of the ground that may have been given up to "that martial arts bull****". Whether you love him or hate him, if you're a fan of boxing, you have to appreciate the fact that he's looking out for boxing's best interests going forward. And like I said, it isn't just about the money. He's old and he's got plenty of it.

Lol. Sorry. You should try educating yourself about Arum. Then go educate yourself about Don King and Co.

Arum and King are a HUGE part of boxing's problems today. More and more young men who want to go into sports as a career are avoiding boxing. And those two *******s are big reason why. No one wants to become a Champion of the World, but then be broken down physically at 40, have no pension plan or health insurance, and be bankrupt.

Here is a story about King and Tyson. Back when Tyson signed with King he paid Don King as his promoter, one of his sons as his manager, and his daughter as the president of the 'Mike Tyson Fan Club'. Tyson was also required to pay consulting fees to King's wife, son and son-in-law.

Tell me where you disagree with me. And why did you bring up Don King?

I made the point that Bob Arum seems to be concerned with the long-term state of boxing's future and you responded with a story about Don King ****ing over Mike Tyson that everyone already knows. I'm confused.
