      Boxing is more deeply rooted in traditional sports.

      And Kimbo didn't win that fight. It was robbed from him by a known check diver.

      Well known in the MMA community. Not to Shaw and his braindead son.

        boxing you get diffrent styles but basicly its still a guy with two hands, in mma if you get a grappler vs a puncher, once it goes to floor pucher realy has no shot. mma sometimes puts in a swordsmen againts a gun slinger.

          How do you figure. All the p4p best in boxing have been training from early ages. Guys in the UFC took up the sport a couple of Months ago. It explains why boxers can fight for 36 minutes while UFC fighters gas after a round.

            Right watch the UFC promos. They don't show you guys laying on the ground in a guard. Or a guy standing in a clinch. Even the UFC fanboys boy that **** out of the arena. They show you some guy getting punched in the face getting KTFO. Even the UFC fanboys cheer that ****.

            MMA = Closet boxing fans

              That's because boxers don't grapple highly honored and decorated martial artists who know other ways of ending a fight

              And to be honest, the people you've been watching are either Amatuers, people fighting for money marks and/or people who haven't realized how essencial cardio training truly is.

                Boxing 'HANDS DOWN'! I can't believe people reckon UFC aka hugging and kissing on the floor Jiujitsu crap!

                - Boxing is a REAL Man's sport, it's hand-to-hand combat where all you have is your fists to protect you. You fight on your two feet and not rolling around the floor hugging the stuffing out of your opponent.

                - Boxing has such a rich, rich history that UFC can't even touch.

                - Corrales v Castillo I

                - Toney v Jirov

                - Hagler v Hearns

                - Gatti v Ward

                Only the first ever UFC series in late 90s had some brutal fights but now it's gone sour.

                    Its not that I don't like MMA, but I don't see how it is more exciting than boxing as most of its fans claim. Both have good fights and both have bad fights. I don't mind watching guys like Liddell who will stand and trade with strikes, but I don't wanna see guys lying on top of each other putting one another in awkward positions. That just doesn't appeal to me. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

                      Forefathers of MMA? In what sense? Because most boxers would train in grapplin more in the old days?

                      Please explain.
