Do you think being one of the top kickboxers' in the world is a walk in the park? Do you believe placing in the Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling is easy? Tank Abbott and all the other street fighters' got eliminated from the UFC a long while ago. To survive in the UFC, you actually have to be very gifted in at least one core martial art.

I think you misread my last comment in regards to boxing, I'll make it explicitly clear what I meant. Boxing takes a tremendous amount of skill to succeed in it, in fact it takes a lot of skill to do half-way decent. However, having been with my dad through his career and seeing a lot other peoples' fights first hand, I can tell you there are boxers' who have no talent and no skill that are considered boxers (or at least, they technically are). Technically, you don't need skill to box at the amateur level, and some have even got away with becoming pro with no skill; but to become remotely successful you have to have skills in boxing. The same can and is true with fighting in the UFC. Period.

ok i respect ur point cuz u gave good points but one question?? because i don't know that much about ufc or mma give me a % of fighters that have a profesional or certification brackground that are fighting right now im curious??

I think about 90-95% of the fighters in the UFC have creds., the other 5-10% are kinda freestyle fighters that take some moves out of every discipline and don't have a purple belt or higher in any one martial art, but generally have a lot of natural talent to take the edge off of the lack of excelling.

boxing doesnt have guys feeling eachother out on the ground.

I only watch UFC if a good striker is fighting and if its standup mostly, ground fighting/grappling bores me to hell...

st.pierre, loiseau, anderson silva... a few others..

Also, I'm not a fan of Dana White really. He is very unprofessional when it comes to business.

Boxing is not any "better" or "worse" than UFC other than a matter of personal preference. I would say that the average UFC match is more entertaining than the average boxing match, though Boxing's best matches whore almost anything MMA can produce.

Soft, large gloves allow for more epic battles.

By the Way Ive been a huge MMA fan since UFC 1, They showed highlights on Spanish TV of how brutal this new sport was. Anybody that loved the movie "Blood Sport" Became a fan of the "New" NHB fighting.

But latelly after pride went under and all there hasnt been any consistent champions in UFC. Its become a crap shoot. I still stream them, but Boxing Is always my first love.

Nice post.. another is Antonia Rogerio Noguerra who recently took 3rd in the Pan-am games in boxing, super heavyweight division (only loss a low scoring match against the cuban) after winning the South American games.

Not bad for a guy renowned for his Jujitsu.
