Pavlik isn't unstoppable or anything. I mean when ever Taylor moved and Jabbed, Pavlik had absolutely nothing. His jab wouldnt connect, and his right hand would sail right past Taylor's head.

Taylor just isn't a smart puncher, he has no instincts what so ever. All that talent and he just cant grasp the feeling of the sport when he's in the ring. His right hand is a Haymaker, it's not a straight right. I don't think Taylor has ever thrown a effective straight right in his entire career, atleast in all the fights I've seen him in he hasnt. I knew Kelly was big enough to do what Hopkins could only do briefly, and that was get that straight right through Taylor's inactivity and his lame right hand to the point somthin interesting would happen.

But get Pavlik in there with someone like Hopkins or even Wright and I think both will have success against Kelly.

Pavlik has a great chin but he can get hit easily, he doesn't exactly slip punches or block that much. Smart punchers like Hopkins and Wright who also have some great defense, I think they would get past Pavlik.

Pavliks defense is solid. I cant emphasize this fact enough.

As much as I hate to admit it, Hopkins would find the blueprint to beat Pavlik. Only at 168 though, where he can be more active. His shoulder roll/counter style is perfect for a guy like Pavlik.

one of the many ways to beat kelly pavlik is to do what jermain taylor did saturday, but with your ****ing right hand up and more circling to the left....

To an extent, I partly agree with you. Pavlik is very good in parrying punches, especially jabs from his opponents on the outside. However, when his much smaller opponents are within his punching range, his defense is somewhat compromised. Taylor tagged him with a left jab, right cross combo that started the knockdown and nearly stopped him. The same as Miranda, he caught Pavlik flush with several looping overhand rights in their bout as well. So to say that Pavlik's defense is solid is pretty much suspect.

That would have been very ideal, but Taylor lacked the legs and stamina to circle for 12 rounds. He slowed down just enough to get caught by Pavlik's right hand. However, it would have been a good idea on his part to have kept his right hand up to block the Pavlik jab.

convo started good, ended with a lot of Pavlik criticizing based on nothing.

Taylor hit Pavlik with a pretty much perfect combo and didnt KO him, Pavlik returned the favor and did. End of story.

Taylor had ungodly connect ratings and power shot landings. It was power vs power and apparently Pavlik has more, even though it seemed like Taylor did through most of the fight.
