    The way to beat Pavlik!

Lotta people talking about the fight. Many second guessing Taylor.

It should be obvious to everyone who actually watched the fight that beating pavlik will hinge on one thing.

Watch the fight closely. Pavlik's flaw is that he almost always never comes back with the left hook. That said there were times when Taylor launched a flurry after covering for the incomming right cross from pavlik. When he did so, he exposed pavlik's real weakness. If manyy was worth two ****s he would have seen it and told Taylor to lure Pavlik in for the right and flurry off it.

Watch the fight. Know the truth of the fistic genius i am!

pavliks flaw is that hes slow and has a suspect defense, he won the fight almost exclusively because taylor could not get out of the way of the right hand.

I'd say a master boxer could decision Pavlik. Hell, Taylor might have been able too, but he didn't really try to straight up box him for the majority of the fight, so I don't know.

      The jury is still out.

I think Wright's defensive matrix could beat him too, which we might actually get to see sometime soon.

I said the same thing, Pavlik couldn't handle a good flurry so that would be key to getting a victory against him.

Pavlik looks slow but don't be deceived by that, boy got one hell of a timing.

His workrate is also a compliment to his defense.

A quick fighter would expose Pavlik with ease.

To beat Pavlik you have to get close to him, like anyone with a killer straight punch. Either use more deliberate head movememnt (Taylor was uselessly swaying, not using good, purposeful head movement) or better yet cover up like Winky or Abraham would do. Someone with close-range power and a good defense would beat him. Do you know someone like that?

you can do all the planning u want,
but when u get hit, i kno u saw the right hand (jermain didnt)
there is NO PLAN to prepare for a punch u never saw coming
u kannot prepare for ur opponents power
pavlik touched jermain and he couldnt stay standing
(a lot has to be said for pavlik for getting up from jermain's bombs)
                tired of the excuses
jermain got beat by a better fighter

                end of story

No, Taylor lost the fight because he couldn't capitalize on the mistakes Pavlik makes. Largely because His corner was doing a horrible job. Taylor was faster, just as strong ans was boxing well. He shoul have focused strickly on the right as thats really all Pavlik has. He only opens up with uppercuts and hooks when he hurts a guy.

Slow has nothing to do with it. When u have an acurate strong Jab-fast is neutralized. Just ask some of the greats. Pavlick is slow footed, he has decent handspeed, and phenominal power, but to beat him you have to counter off the right as it's when he is most vulenable!

His defense is not suspect. He comes straight ahead and is offensive orientated. That means he will get hit. He abandons defense in order to trade in hopes of landing the big shot.

Dude, you need to really watch a fight. Go beyond the obvious and look at whats really going on!

To beat Pavlik you need great defensive skills and a high workrate.
