Pavlik Knocks Out Taylor - MERGED DISCUSSION THREAD

Don't you think he looked bad tonight? I thought Taylor was sharp, fast and by far the superior boxer. I gave Pavlik just two of the first six rounds on workrate alone. And I say this as a big Pavlik fan and as a man who made an avatar of Taylor with a green face.

Taylor's greenery tonight was shown in the way he let Pav off the hook, but Pav was one dimensional IMO. I thought Taylor achieved more in losing than he did in "winning".

Dead right, Taylor looked much better while it lasted. I think Pavlik has the most to learn from this fight IMO. He needs to get the right people behind him as I think the ref had serious cause to even stop the fight when Pavlik was getting whipped in rd 2. Pavlik has done real well when you see where he's from and the difference between the million dollar team behind taylor and the $2.50 backing Pavlik has. It's time to sharpen up and tweak up that defence otherwise he will end up with an embarrassing stoppage on his sheet. Full respect to his unbelievable heart though. The man was born to be a champion. I'm pumped after watching that. One question though...why didn't Taylor take a knee instead of ending up pretty much out cold.

Taylor's got class though. He will be back.

I havnt seen a Undisputed Champion get beat down like that in the corner for a long time.

No. Its safe to say the Pavlik hype has started. Give Taylor credit, after this fight I'm convinced there is no middle weight out there that can beat Pavlik right now. Who can stand up to his punches? Taylor has a good chin and he couldnt in the end. Taylor landed some hard punches. I dont see Joe or Kessler beating pavlik at all.

The fight was ruined and it was still unbelievable. Pavlik came back from a beating. If Smoger wasnt ref, he would have been beaten. This is the best Jermain Taylor I've ever seen too. I knew Pavlik would knock him out though. I'm sure he has everyones respect now. And I knew it would be a classic. Great fight.

Man, I was just real like, dopwntrodden watching that fight. Jermain looked so discouraged a few days beforehand like people had been pointing out, and I just felt like something was going to happen.

When he knocked Kelly down in the 2nd round, my heart was pacing so ****in' quick it was unbelievable, I was like "This is it, he's done." But I give Pavlik the utmost props, that dude is a ****ing champion, and I'm damn happy that he won, he deserved it.

I never was a Pavlik hater, I knew he was a good fighter but I simply thought Miranda was too much for him, and I thought Taylor was easily the highest calibur fighter he'd ever faced, and he took a LOT of clean shots from both of them and came back to KO both of them. I give him the utmost props.
