    How good was Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker???

    I'm just getting some of his fights now but i've never actually seen him fight. Heard a lot of good things.

    whats the deal??

    At his best he was as good as Mayweather and funner to watch, IMO.

      His ability to dodge punches was not natural. Never seen someone with those reflexes.

          Awesome defense is an understatement, you ever see replays of fights where they show the punches in slow motion, that's how pernell saw punches in REAL TIME.

            Yeah, it is actually, and we use it quite often here in the states.



            Whitaker was a great showman and could make really good fighters look bad.

              Pernell had the best defense ever. People say Willy Pep was better, but we don't have any video of a prime Pep to compare him too, so I have to say Pernell Whitaker has the best defense in boxing history.
