When ODLH looked bad to me was when they got close, and Floyd had him all tangled up and Oscar looked like that goofy kid at the local boxing gym. And PBF was kinda laughing at him. Floyd is VERY tricky inside with his defense and elbows.

So I guess my answer is "yes". If I were judging, I would have given Oscar another round or two for boxing. He just looked ineffective brawling.

    So we will constructively disagree.
I've always thought that Oscar looks like a little kid who doesn't know how to fight when he tries to flurry... he looks damn near ******ed.

They also don't look like powerful punches, even though they likely hurt more than how they look.

I think that was Oscar's only chance and I mean only. There was just no way he was going to outbox Floyd IMO. He is too slow for Floyd. Freddie was right in his assessment of beating floyd. Everyone who tried the boxing think lost so just based on history I would have tried the same thing.

I thought when they were in the middle of the ring that Floyd was hitting Oscar to easily. Oscar's rope rampage looked funny though.....I think he might have been scared for some reason....

You know what's funny? Despite all the disagreements, we all agree that Oscar looks like a spazz when he tries to brawl on the ropes. He looks amateurish doing that.

Which is weird, because he is a fairly coordinated guy. And a skilled fighter. I guess that is just waaay out of his comfort zone.

I guess every guy has his "goof zone". For Zab, it's when he gets hit. Even when Zab isn't hurt, he does this half-jog around the ring.

I have seen Shane look kinda silly. SSM does this thing where he rolls his fists together really fast before he throws punches. Almost like he is winding up his hands or trying to build momentum. In poker, it would be a "tell".

For Oscar, I think part of the reason he can't brawl is because his left side is his power side (he's a natural lefty), but it is out front. So his balance and coordination gets all ****ed up. Almost as if an orthodox fighter turned southpaw.

You know who else looked ridiculous trying to brawl? The HillBilly. Do you remember early in the second Hopkins fight, he tried to "fight rough" and it looked absolutely INSANE??

Oscar's jab could have won him that fight. When he through it, he was in control.
