The weight you are at at weigh in is your strength and speed decider on fightnight.
AGAIN: Hatton can come in at whatever weight he feels gives him his best speed/power combo: 140.... 142.5..... 143.67859.... 147. WHATEVER.

Hatton has all the options in his hands. The 147 weight limit is an advantage. He will be in the low 150s on fight night.

Hatton likes to be "around 11 stone" (154) on fight night. So he said. He was 151 on fight night vs. castillo.

147 IS AN ADVANTAGE FOR HATTON. ALL IT MEANS IS THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE TO DRY OUT AS MUCH ON FIGHT WEEK.
When you are fighting a (naturally) lighter guy, getting the weight limit set higher is to your advantage. PBF will still be 148 on fight night. Hatton will be slightly bigger. Even if the fight was at 140.

140 vs. 147 is a NON-ISSUE, or a slight advantage for Ricky. If Hatton wants to trick his body and weigh in at 140, he is still welcome to do that. It would be ****** because all it means is that he drained himself when he did not need to. But 147 is a "limit". There is no "minimum" . Ricky can weigh in at whatever he wants to. 138. 141. 145. 147. It doesn't matter.

                    Why can't you understand this??
good point very logical and i think hatton made the point also that it wasnt so much 147 that presented a problem for him with Collazo but that he tried to bulk up and be "bigger" and "stronger" as if the fight hinged on it. Regardless of what weight is correct Hatton will defintely not want to compromise his speed, mobility etc. and it seems like his team is smart enough to realize that.

you know floyd was maybe a clean punch or two away from being KO'd by Demarcus Corley (TWICE)so it is not a given or set in stone that Floyd is unbeatable at any weight. Hatton like Floyd is a proven p4p guy he can punch, he can box and he can beat FMJ!
