Although I used to think this was an eays win for Floyd, I now think Hatton has a great chance.

Floyd has never fought anyone like Hatton. The relentless body attack, the nifty footwork. He hits you at so many different angles that you cant possibly keep him off of you without taking some serious punishment. Theres no way Hatton doesnt make this a fight. Not with 10,000 Brits cheering him on. He's going to be as relentless as he was against Tyzu

Now I do think Mayweather is good enough to get the job done. He is all business in there and I believe he will rise to the occasion if he needed to.

I'll be surprised if the fight goes much more than 7/8 rounds.

          Current odds:

          Floyd: -245
          Hatton: +205

Can you imagine what it would be if Hatton didn't have his loyal Euro following? I'm glad Hatton has all these fans... Money in the bank.

[QUOTE=.Mik.;2605933]Alternatively...suck my ****. I'm not going to do your homework for you, plenty have said it. I think it was Larry Merchant who said it on TV. It was something along the lines of "Of all the fighters out there, Hatton is the one who has the type of physical game that could trouble Mayweather".

If you think that the statement 'Ricky might just have the game to trouble Floyd'...not to destroy Floyd, not even necessarily to even defeat him just that he MIGHT have the game to TROUBLE Floyd is an overstatement, then you are an idiot.[/QUO

No need to get personal in here. We can talk trash without taking cheap shots at each other. Larry Merchant said the same thing about Baldomir and around the 10th round he was calling the names of the people who were leaving because it was so one sided. He never gave Floyd any credit. He just complained and took cheap shots as he always does.. He also said the same thing about Diego Corrales and five knockdowns later, he was still refusing to give Mayweather credit.

I agree. We really need to elevate the level of discourse. All the name-calling and insults and "kiss my taints" are very unnecessary.

              Let's just talk boxing.

he said then he would fight him next, and when hatton asked for $8 million dollars for the fight mayweather claimed he priced himself out of it, he said hatton is asking for "floyd mayweather type money" even though hatton is set to make double that for this fight. ive also read hatton's autobiography and from that you can tell floyd mayweather is never far from his mind, so i think if people believe hatton has been ducking floyd they should think again. One of the many quotes about mayweather from the book is

"Mayweather is one of the all-time greats and until i face him i wont be done with boxing".
He also states more than once he is convinced he would beat him, which i think is a problem with some of floyd's opponents is there self belief, i think this fight will be very competitive! Floyd is fighting one of the 2 or 3 best pressure fighters in the world. i still lean towards floyd but id be surprised if he won more than 7/8 rnds.
I think that Hatton is a good person and a "real fighter" in the sense that he wants to fight the best fighters out there and he truly believes that he can beat the best. I admire him for that. Hatton hasn't been ducking Floyd. However, His promoter and management team have. They have never agreed with Hatton's assertion that he can beat the best out there and have protected him like a mother bear protecting her cubs. They have put him in the ring with nothing but stiffs. If Hatton hadn't insisted on fighting Kostya Tyszu, Frank Warren would have never made the fight. Warren refused to put Hatton in the ring with Mayweather when Mayweather wanted to fight Hatton in his first fight at 140. He refused to negotiate. He simply said NO. Hatton's last promotional team avoided Mayweather last year by asking for $13 million to fight him, when Hatton hadn't made that much in his last four fights. The only reason Hatton is fighting him now is because Hatton insisted on the fight. Hatton is very confident in his abilities. His management and promotional team never has been.

                    Possible. But highly unlikely.

A much more likely scenario - in my mind - is that Floyd takes about two rounds to adjust to what Hatton is doing. Starts hitting Ricky pretty consistently around 3/4. By 5/6, we are all under the realization that Ricky is out of his element. He is getting hit too much. Somewhere around 7/8, it gets very ugly, and Hatton's team mercifully stops it on Ricky's behalf by 9/10.

The great thing is that we will find out who's right.
