Marketing strategy? LOL I dont think so. Floyd had no choice BUT to play "bad guy". Nobody likes him ANYWAY.Nothing... he has built his marketing strategy on pissing everyone off, so people will pay in hopes that he will lose. De La Hoya made fans by being the nice guy, exciting fighter... that's probably why their fight sold so well, because almost everyone likes Oscar, and almost everyone hates Floyd.Comment

Thats why Oscar will be rich for life, while in 10-15yrs, Floyd will be working in a carwash/fast food restaraunt ala Leon Spinks because he spent all his allowance money that Oscar gave him on: Bling, Rims, Cars, More bling and rims, and paying people to be his friend.Comment

Pobrecito. Don't believe the hype. Are you THAT naive? Don't just buy anything that someone sells you. You must try to think for yourself.
Notice that they showed you Oscar's old Mommy-wagon, but they didn't show you his million-dollar yacht. 24/7 was just a well-crafted publicity stunt. A marketing campaign. They 'created' caricatures of those guys. HBO shot THOUSANDS of hours of footage and showed you TWO hours.
I'm sure that you are a very nice guy. But you have alot to learn, my son.Comment

Ok, Oscar has a million dollar yauct. So? He's a very successfull boxer/buisnessman. Oscar didnt JUST become rich and start buying lavish luxuries, he's BEEN rich. Floyd on the other hand has JUST started making the "BIG TIME" money. He's one of those "I make 1mil, and spend 800k kind've guys" Dont mean to sound racist in anyway because im not, but Floyd is acting "n..ger rich". I just saw a video of Floyd rapping! He now wants to be a rapper, and calls himself "Money Mayweather" I'll post it for you. Maybe it might turn u on!deevel,

I've seen the video. Also saw the MTV Cribs episode.Ok, Oscar has a million dollar yauct. So? He's a very successfull boxer/buisnessman. And I realize that you are a relatively new boxing fan, but it may surprise you to learn that Floyd has actually been making big money for a very long time.
Do you remember when HBO offered him a $12 million contract , and he called it "slave wages"? PBF was making over $3 million to fight guys like NDou and Bruseles. By contrast, Margarito just made his career high of $1.2 mil for the Williams fight. Still, I think PBF spends too much.
Oscar can afford to buy whatever he wants. No doubt. Planes, yachts, whatever. That wasn't my point. The point is HOW the media portrays it, and how the boxer elects to have his persona portrayed.
You are a naif if you believe that Oscar is driving around town trying to save a couple of pennies on gas when cameras aren't around. Oscar goes out on his yacht and spends thousands per day on gas. And thousands more on upkeep. Per day.
I'm just asking you to open your eyes. Stop allowing people to fool you.
By the way, it is HILARIOUS when someone says "i'm not racist" and then pulls the 'n-word' out . INTERESTING.Comment

PBF has been rich what the **** are you talking about. PBF just got into the very top echelon of money makers but he has been right under them for years. He was getting between 2 and 4 mill at minimum per fight when he was under contract with HBO. If buying yourself lavish and expensive things is acting "****** Rich" then everyperson with money is acting that way.Ok, Oscar has a million dollar yauct. So? Is Paris Hilton acting "****** rich"?Comment

i'm a floyd fan but i think he would be more popular and generate more money if he'd had a loss earlier in his career. he's scared to death of loosing his 0. being unbeaten is a big part of what it means to be floyd mayweather, if he had a professional loss on his record, he would look at himself differently and perhaps be more of an exciting fighter, as the difference between no losses and one loss, is huge compared to the difference between 1 loss and 2.
once being unbeaten is no longer a possibility he'd be forced to show his greatness and superiority in other ways.Comment

all of these guys are rich as ****, as long as they aren't completely ******ed and forget about this little things called "taxes" they're all doing fine. don't worry about their money worry about yourself.
i don't understand people's obsession with other people's money and other people being rich. watch them box, watch them fight, hold them to doing their job. which is to entertain you in the ring.Comment
