How would Prime Roy Jones do in the 1980's?

Because Hagler big win where against former WW so it looks good at paper and he was actully coming into the ring at a LHW he is a huge guy.

Roy on the other hand went up on weight and fought people who are actully could punch as hard as Hagler and he speed is phenomnal.

Hagler never faced anyone as Jones too, He is fast, powerful and similar size.

bull****, plain and simple. Hagler weighed in under 160 in the era of same day weigh-ins. His walk around weight was probably very close to 160

So it's Roy's fault James Toney had to lose a lot of weight in the biggest fight of Toney's career.

As for Roy not giving Hopkins a rematch

Neither did Sugar Ray Leonard with Duran, Hearns and Hagler

He gave Duran a rematch,but it was 8 years later when he felt he was much easier to beat and the same with Hearns. You didnt see Ray wanting to give Duran a 3rd fight in 1981 because he knew Duran would be motivated and come in like the June 1980 Duran.

After watching Hearns knock Duran out in the 2nd round in 1984,you didnt see Ray wanting to come out of retirement and challenge Tommy at 154.

Roy wanted it to be 60-40 in the rematch and Hopkins is the one who turned it down. If you want a rematch that bad,why worry about Roy getting 60-40 over you. He beat you the 1st time and was the pound for pound 1# fighter at the time so he deserved it.

well going up it weight and winning a title is something big. and you think those are bum because Roy makes them look like a bum but some of them are pretty good fighters. It like Mayweather-Gatti. Gatti is a decent fighter but Mayweather made him look bad

i think jones could beat leonard and hearns
i think he would have some struggles with hagler but he has a chance of winning that match as well

Roy definitly will beat Hagler.

Hagler was slow and loved to brawl Roy speed and power could make some trouble for him e****ally many of Hagler big win are against people who are lesser size than him

Hagler was more of a boxer-puncher than a brawler.

His most high-profile wins are against guys like Duran, Mugabi (a ranked contender at both 154 and 160) and Hearns, but Hagler beat plenty of quality middleweights of the time.

Hopkins priced himself out of fighting Jones a second time. that's what it is and nothing else.

Jones being 3 division champ, the bigger draw and having beat hopkins already offered 60-40, which would have been Hopkins career high payday. Hopkins turned it down. You do the math on who "refused" who.

BTW, if Jones win over Toney is not valid because Toney had to drain a lot of weight, Leonard win over Duran is not valid for the same reason.

Leonard and Hearns were great ay 47-54. Jones was great at 60-68. Jones kicks those smaller asses any day of the week.
