Wow even another crazy un thought out list of uninformed posters. Styles makes fights. Leonard is my favorite fighter of all time, but pound per pound is the only way you can compare him to Roy. Had he fought roy.. I suggest you all do your homework. Leonard beat most fighters due to his speed, when he had to dig deep he could overwhelm "welterweights" with his comination of speed and power. Heart is a finalizing factor when you have the other attributes that allow you to overcome equal foes or fighters who may not have the tools to deal with you. Remember Gotti vs Mayweather. Gotti had all the heart in the world....Well Had Ray fought Jones at middleweight...Before I answer this...one thing you all should know is that ray nd Roy did spar in 1988 and it was ugly for ray. He even admitted that he was shocked by Roy's hand speed and was glad Roy was not fighting when he was around due to his awkardness. John scully saw the Sparring session and asked Roy Sr. to release the footage but out of repsect for Ray, they will not. Ray also said he was drinking some beers before , and was trying to recruit roy to his then new boxing Team...roy turned him down. However, back to what would happen. Roy would completely overwhelm a peak Leonard who would have to come up to Roy. Roy was faster at middle with his one-two and his left hook, than Ray was at welter. Ray combinations were faster, but they would not have any impact on a prime Roy who simply at middleweight was too big and strong for Ray. It actually would be sadd sight for my favorite fighter of all time.

Roy vs Hearns. I think you all forgot about roys speed/power combo at Middleweight. If Ray hurt Heanrs everytime he truly hit him @ welter what do you thnk Roy would do at middleweight. Lest you all forget that he had like 20ko's in 21 fights before he fought Hopkins. I know they were not world class fighters, but neither were Ray leonard first 25 fights, before facing Andy price.

Roy vs hagle is the most valid fight. However if you go back to Hagler issues with antefermo, and then with Duran. you see his challenges with fighters that could box. I read that some on here say roy simply had speed and was based on instinct and made a lot of mistakes but not a great boxer. Wow...come on...so what. The end result is that people could not hit him, and vs a fighter like hagler he would have field day as did a out of boxing for 5years leonard did vs a 34 year old hagler. Yes hagler was a bit removed from his peak vs leoanrd, but was he vs Duran or antefermo.. Even when he faced Leonard he just beat the best threat he ever faced in a undefeated mugabi who had like 25 kos in 25 fights...was a solid jr middle and middle...The reason he beat all these other fighters convincingly is because they came straight at hagler and allow for his brutal counter punching attack..Roy would never fight hagler like this...

I suggest some of you do your research and make well informed post so that your logic is understood. It is completley absurd to think that Leonard would have a chance vs a Prime Roy. It is a simply a bigger stronger faster version of himself.

They would all lose to Roy. Prime Roy at MW was unbeatable in my opinion although I do think Hagler would make a trilogy out of them facing off against one another most likely. Spinks is also another story I don't think Roy could topple him at LHW....

I hate convos like this, simply for the fact that people give fighters in this era practically NO chance against the best from another era. We'll NEVER KNOW if Roy would beat Hagler, Hearns or Leonard. We can assume, but don't say "Roy has no chance, EVER" because you don't know.

Did anybody (or at least most) give Roy a shot against James Toney? Bernard Hopkins? John Ruiz? Nope.

Roy is much better than Hagler if SRL could use his speed what would you think Roy would do?

Another thing could Hagler stand the MW of the 90s?

I have little doubt that Roy Jones of the 90s would have held his own in that era, he was just to damn fast
