Why is Max Kellerman so rude?

In a word, perception. One who speaks the truth in raw form (without sugar coating) is generally peceived as rude, when in reality, the person is merely tactless. Lack of subtlety does not rudeness make.

If you can't accept the truth, that's sad.

Kellerman was right and humble. He didn't discredit Gatti, he just said the truth.

Well then maybe you should tell Max how you feel.

I'm not a fan. He knows his boxing but his rhetoric is grade C and he is so ignorant and disrespectful towards fighters he's on borrowed time. The Gatti comment "...one thing Gatti has lost is fans" was pure crass.

Max Kellerman is a smart guy, and a genuinely good person.

And I'm saying this from personal experience.
