Why is Max Kellerman so rude?

IMO, max is more blatantly biased than them.... some of his biased comments are so far out there its silly(for example chris byrd was going to KO VK)...

That Chris Byrd statement was bull**** I can agree. We just going to have to agree to disagree about Lampley and Merchant. Lampley I swear purposefully calls fights wrong. Like the non-HBO fighter will land a hard shot and Lampley will say the HBO fighter landed the hard shot and he will do this kind of **** all night. Or he will scream and hollar when his favorite fighter is throwing a flurry of punches even though they are clearly not landing. I hate him as a commentator for that ****. Then Larry Merchant is depressed with his life and it comes through with the comments he makes about people and the fights he commentates.

No one knows boxing more than actual fighers and trainers. So Larry Merchant and Kellerman can both be fried. Bring back George Foreman and RJJ. They need some fighters w/ good speech as well.

Roy Jones wasn't a team player.

HBO likes for the commentary team to arrive at the fight location on Wednesday or Thursday. Roy Jones felt that his thirty years of boxing experience gave him enough perspective, and he can fly in on Saturday morning and do the job on Saturday night just as well. I believe he said "what can I learn in 2 days that I haven't learned in thirty years?" . AS A CONCESSION, Roy was willing to fly in on Friday afternoons.

While Roy may have a brilliant eye for what's going on inside the ring, he doesn't learn anything about the fighter's personalities, the tenor of the training camp, the difficulties a fighter may have making weight, etc. Besides, if the other team members (who have WAY more tenure than you) can show up a couple days early, so can you. Roy, you are not Roger Clemens.



Max, however, is a professional. On time. Prepared. Committed.

Roy Jones and George Foreman made more intelligent comments - their experience in the ring gave them insight into boxing that Kellerman does not have. And they were usually not biased. However, Kellerman is very biased, having a strong dislike of certain fighters (Gatti, Hatton), while being a nuthugger of others.

Do people here know that Max Kellerman's brother Sam was murdered by a boxer with whom he'd had a gay relationship? The boxer, James Butler, actually killed Sam Kellerman with a hammer, and then set fire to the Kellerman house and took Sam's car.

So you're saying those two out of shape farts know more about boxing. Even though he was late he still did a great job, he knew exactly WTF he was talking about and made positive contributions to the commentation. George Foreman is prolly the best commentator they had.You gotta walk through a fighters steps to know what's going on. That's exactly why I think RJJ, Foreman, Steward, and basically anybody involved in fighting/training will do a better job.

I think of it like this... experience aside, details etc.....if you were to watch a fight in the same room as an experienced professional boxer and then watch another fight with a guy like Kellerman, etc.....and you talk about the fight with each guy as it unfolds etc.....I think your time hearing the fighter talk would be much more interesting and insightful
