I change my vote from a Povetkin KO to a Povetkin decision 120-108

It's going to be easy. A prime Byrd might give Povetkin a fight and lose a close decision, this Byrd has nothing for the kid

I wouldn't say easy, but you are right, IMO...Povetkin...

Byrd doesn't have as good of a chin as Donald, so some of the shots that only momentarily stunned Donald might have knocked Byrd down. But Byrd is four years younger and a bit faster, so he may be better able to evade Povetkin's punches.

I think there will be a mid to late round TKO or KO by Povetkin. If it goes to the judges Povetkin will probably have landed enough punches to win, although Byrd is a skillful boxer and so always has a chance of winning by decision.

            You're welcome and thanks.

It looked to me that Povetkin was more interested to go 10 rounds than go all out for a stoppage win. Anyway, he shouldn't have too many problems with Byrd.

Yes, I think part of the reason Donald was chosen was because he is difficult to KO and Sasha needs professional ring experience. Povetkin's previous two opponents, Bostice and L'Heureux, had both been stopped in the second round.

Tua wasn't even hurt, that's domination? If it wasn't for Tua there would be no fight, and if it wasn't for Byrd's conditioning he would've gone down by the massive body shots he took from Tua. It was a good performance by Byrd but far from a shutout...

Povetkin is nothing Special.. At least I cant see what the fuss is all about..

I might be wrong.. But I am sure anybody NOT named Klitschko is going to have a problem with Chris Byrd.. Unless he has Gotten Very Old overnight..
I say Byrd By UD ... Except the fight will be in Russia.. Dont know what the judges are like there.. But if it's anything like Figure skating Byrd is ****ed..

i agree with pretty much everything youre saying here and i have an interesting theory myself

i have an intersting theory regarding even matchups such as this.

obviously as everyone knows the american heavyweight scene is a mess and the eastern bloc guys are really cleaning up and what that is doing is shifting the power of public perception and hype almost exclusively to non-americans

so guys like povetkin, virchis, *****ko are gathering much more serious consideration as world title threats than the young USA fighters. not to take anything away from them cause i think they really are better than the chazz witherspoons but the point is that none of them have really done anything to warrant such serious considerations...

and from a ******** persepective... for one americans cannot just go bet on their favorite fighter without going to vegas or having a bookie... in other countries its no big deal... so in a fight like this, though it is even, povetkin is gonna end up being the favorite because quite simply, he is an undefeated russian and his fans are in position to lay money.... there isnt really any other logic for backing it up.. byrd has virtually every advantage on paper... world class experience, chin, conditioning and boxing skills.... well not power, but he never has had that.

its like a total role reversal from 10-15 years ago when americans were spoon fed and russians had to fight to earn their keep... now were looking at a division where chris byrd, a world champion, needs to beat a guy with 13 fights to get the respect he has already earned... while povetkin, without having beaten a world class fighter is already being coronated as the next big thing...

sorry if my point is not so clear but i think u should get the drift i dont really have the time to break it down any farther or organize my thoughts on it, maybe later...

but i see byrd winning a close but obvious UD... povetkin isnt big enough himself to take advantage of byrds one true weakness.. his physical size
