If you explained his style to a trainer, almost all trainers would say he'd be beat. Than you add in his reflexes/speed and athletism, and it's a different story. Once those things faded, he's a PRETTY good boxer, not a GREAT one though. Also, He lost to Lamotta, once.. Beat him 4 times. So, let's not forget that. It was after he had several dozen fights, too.
    as i said, i hold that againt srr because lamotta was nothing special, only a chin.. but yeah you're right, i think that shouldnt be hold against srr, and as i said, i still respect him as the #1 fighter in the history of boxing if i add resume and skills, but if the p4p was made of skills alone, roy would be #1

      I think The Iceman John Scully would definitely disagree with you on this point. But from your posts I see you are confusing the 35/36 year old Jones with the 25/26 year old Jones. At 25/26 is when he pitched shutout against James Toney. In his prime Jones was on another planet than most fighters & it seems it's a trend to either hate on him or to say he was overated after his losses. But what people forget was that Jones was well past his prime by the time he lost & coming down from heavyweight.

        No, I'm not confusing the Roy of his prime with the Roy we see today. Not at all.

          You sure fooled me because you made statements saying "Roy is there to be hit" & "He can't take pressure". If you really would've seen him in his prime (Not just highligh reels) you never would have made those statements. I believe Roy was in prime from 1994-2000/01. And during that time period he was unbelieveable. Could he have tested himself some more & went up against stiffer opposition? Of course. But there's no denying that he is an ATG.

            960 to 40 he would have kicked his ass. I guess now roy can't ask 60/40 he can be lucky if he gets 40. But he still kicks his ass

              Roy won 116-112 on every card, meaning 8-4.

                If Toney won 2 more rounds it would have been a draw.

                    what is all this crap? dude this is not even a legit arguement, RJJ was and always will be better than B-Hop, wen they fought, RJJ came out in a solid victory... theres nothing more to it, and why would he be scared to fight B-Hop? makes no sense..

                      Jones-Hopkins ---->Jones UD12
                      Toney-Jones ----> Jones UD12

                      the rest is speculation.

                      I am a big fan of all three fighters, and I would have loved to see them fight each other 3-4 times each, we would have had a murderer's row going on again (charles, burley, moore...). Unluckily we have alphabet bull**** and hbo
