RJJ is no diffrent from Joe Calzaghe and Ricky who build their record by fighting bums. Hopkins fought Winky, DLH, Tito and Tarver and is now looking to fight Calzaghe. Hopkins doesnt duck nobody and wants to fight the best!! he isnt about the money!! Thats what u call a true freakin boxer!! The man is 42 going to 43 and is still kicking ass. Dont compare RJJ to Hopkins. RJJ ducked hopkins and never gave Hopkins a chance to redeem his lost. Lets say RJJ retired undefeated people will ask who he beat??? Your only answer is Toney. Their reply would then be *thats it?* and U would know darn well!! That the answer would be yeah!!
Well Hpkins record is more deciving those are two WW you mention and Tarver wasnt in his best performance.

Those guys are talking about classic Roy quotes. What about Hopkins? He gave his classic quote after that fight: "there's no way that RJ can get more money then me after the Trinidad fight"? At that time most casual fans didnt even know who Hopkins was. RJ was the #1 fighter in the game, already beat Hopkins, and was on PPV every fight. Until the Tito fight no one came to see Hopkins and he had trouble even getting on cable. After that one win he started demanding more money over a guy who already beat him and was way more popular. It was so ******

Completely agree with you & Hyperion. Back in 2001-02 when this fight was hot either Hopkins wanted no part of Roy or he over priced his market value at the time. Roy was already an established star in the sport for a long time already. Hopkins beats Tito his first big name opponent & then he thinks he's on par with Jones which was ridiculous. Even just a few months ago Hopkins was still playing games in regards to a rematch.

BHop is a boring, dirty fighter whose claim to fame is beating up on blown-up welterweights. Roy's claim to fame is P4P supremacy for over ten years, championships in 4 weight classes and being one of the most talented (if not THE most talented fighter to ever lace up a pair of gloves).

On top of that, he beat a 27 year old version of Bernard Hopkins. 27 damn years old!!! That is the absolute physical prime of a man, and Roy bested Bernard at this stage of his life so I don't care what anyone says, Roy is and always will be the better man.
