you cant count any fight after Ruiz because he drained 20 pounds of muscle and so he was gone... nah that's bull****

seriously what any of them did at a later age should not matter. none of them got **** done after 35.

Leonard last achievements (at age 33) was robbing old man hearns, and beating an even older, worn out Roberto Duran. Leonard's last real fight was Lalonde, with all the caveats of the ridiculous catchweight).

Jones last achievements (at age 34) were a HW championship belt, and fighting with his guts out against Tarver the first time to defend his belt one last time.
Leonard was less then 2 months short of 41, anyway it's pretty ****** to compare the Tarver/Johnson fights with the Camacho fight.

Jones was not retired for 6 years like the way Leoanrd was with the Camacho fight, Jones was not 41 years old.

Jones was knocked out by 2 senior citzens that was actually a little older then Jones.

The weight drained excuse is not a good one, cause Jones won the first Tarver fight, even though many people thought Tarver was robbed in the first fight.

I had Hearns winning the second fight by a few points, lets not forget that Hearns was saved by the bell in the last seconds of the fight, if that fight would've been a 15 rounder like their first fight, Hearns would've been stopped, especially the way he was hurt in the last minute of the fight.

Anyway you said Leonards legacy was better but for some reason you haven't voted for Leonard and you are bringing up the Camacho fight.

when leonard got beat by norris and got knocked out silly by camacho, people questioned his legacy. people even questioned it when he ran from duran and hagler to get the W. I think rj is a better fighter than any of the fantastic four of that era but i think leonards legacy may be better just because of his era and the name guys he beat. jones didnt have the opportunity to fight 4 of the best fighteres to ever life. however he did win the hw title coming from middle and did beat hop and toney. but its still ****** to compare 2 guys from different era's. its all opinion.

Sorry, that is completely bull****, no one ever questioned Leoanrd's legacy cause of the Camacho fight.

I agree and they were not as poor outings as the camacho fight was. 2 months short of 41 is 40.

No, and Leonard did not go up to HW.

so...? he was 35 and fighting above his natural weight of 160 (168 at most). At the same age Leonard got schooled by Norris at 154, which for a 5'10" fighter is a pretty natural weight to be at.

It is a perfectly legit "excuse", as Jones looked dead all through the first Tarver fight, as opposed to hopping around the ring like a basketball player in a playground. Jones looked nothing like Jones in that fight.

"fixed" that, but what do you care if I voted or not?

I dont get exactly what your point? None of the two did **** at 35 and on. Jones stayed in the ring and did not do **** while Leonard immediately retired (which I think Jones should have done, too) and by definition fo retirement did not so **** either. what's the difference? Leonard chose to retire, it's not like he would have kicked ass if he could, he fought Norris, saw the condition of his reflexes, stamina, speed and decided to hang them up.

Jones' loss against Tarver should tarnish his legacy, but Leonard loss against Norris should not? that sounds a bit biased...

This is a silly thread its like comparing Ali to Lennox Lewis. Ray Leonard was a way better fighter and fought way better competition. It just to bad that he had that eye injury cause we would have saw more of him. Let Roy have fought Hagler, Hearns, or Duran.....lmao u would have saw the paramedics take roy out n a casket
