Sadly, we're still on this ****ing bull****, nonsense, crap that Floyd Mayweather has a better defense than Hopkins.

    What a ****ing joke.. :wank:
With the shoulder roll and constant running. PBF has THE best defense. How the **** are you gonna hit a rolling, slipping ,and running target

Well yeah of late JT has been reduce to more of that style but if you look at his earlier career it was the same in the middle of the ring.

Even in the Nunn fight he took out an excellent boxer with his defensive counter punching in the middle of the ring. Toney had great defense all around just that his conditioning and the higher weights more than ability dictated which style he implemented.

Its more of Toney's offense coming off his defense which gives him the nod over others for me.

Against a prime conditioned Toney there is almost no game plan you can implement. Pressure him and corner him....haha, he'd eat you up inside. At a distance on the outside, well look what happend to Nunn and other very good boxers.

I just think we have to look at the earlier Toney to see truly seem his multideminsions.

There was a Youtube video that showcased Floyd Mayweather's "best defense in Boxing.."

Too bad it got taken down.

Between just the Castillo, Corley, and Judah fights Floyd Mayweather was hit cleanly more times than Bernard Hopkins has been hit in his entire career.

I agree that toney's d works everywhere in the ring, moving backward and forward, I just think that PBF has a few other extras to play (movement and straight up blocking/parrying). And this horrible (to watch) thing he does lately (somehow "convincing" the other fighters that not throwing is maybe a good idea) is also a pretty effective way of defense.

              The Michael Nunn fight
Everytime I watch it I change my mind.

Sometimes I think it is a master performance and I think the judges who had it all the way for Nunn are idiots.

Sometimes (and this especially after seeing him eat monster shots from Peter) I think that Toney actually got hit plenty rolling or not rolling, but his chin is so freaking out of this world that it just did not show.

But in general young toney keeping in shape was a force of nature.

                ok

Hopkins has a great D (and so does Mayweather), but this is a myth

Without having to resort to Hopkins-Jones, which would be unfair since PBF never had to face anything like Jones.

Go watch Hopkins-Echols 1, round 1 (of course dont count the right hand after the break). Hopkins gets hit flush with a Right, a left hook and an uppercut.

Toney doesnt deserve to be in the discussion with great defense because he's not a great defensive fighter anymore.

                    Mayweather has the best defense.

I've watched every available fight in the career of both fighters multiple times, respectively.

I'm extremely familiar with the Echols I fight.

                      My argument is unchanged.

                      My point - made.

Mayweather gets hit more often and looks more foolish.

                      Punto.
