Your bringing up old fights becuz you know I defeated you in your own thread Mitchell was a tune up for 147. He fought Sosa 4 YEARS AGO at 135. Far from 147. Bruseles was his first fight at 140. Then he challenged Gatti for the WBC Junior welterweight belt. Floyd wasn't headlining PPV's back at 135. 140 was his first PPV.

Baldomir beat Judah who(until Antonio beat Clottey) was better than anyone Margarito ever fought.

So I guess you are saying 39 year old Randall was a few years past his prime. So is DLH at 35. Baldomir is 35(did he ever have a prime?lol...). Sharmba Mitchel is 35. So what are you saying??

Again, read my previous post. Floy had plenty of time to make the Margarito fight last summer. He had no dance partner. Arum proposed the fight for early July, during the Mayweather/Judah post fight interview. Gatti signed to Fight Baldomir in may for a late July bout. Baldomir was shelved. So while he was shelved, why not take Arums easy 8mil? He still could have Baldomir in November if he beat Tony. The trouble is, it doesnt appear that Floyd is as confident as his nuthuggers...

Margarito's nuthuggers don't see that their boy is an overhyped average fighter who won a vacant belt. I told u before Floyd injured his hand against Judah and could not fight. He didn't fight Baldomir until November. In today's boxing fighters don't fight many times a year. Especially the elites. Baldomir was the REAL welterweight champ.

Oscar is 34 and still a top 154 pounder. Sharmba was tune up, and Baldomir was the legit welterweight champ.

Keep shifting those goalposts. as I said Baldomir wasnt even a consideration until September. Floyd hurt his hand?? 8-10 weeks later he could have started training camp. All fighters hurt their hands when they fight. The Tony fight could have happened in September. That would have given floyd a full 5 months to prepare.

We're talking prime's. Oscar is a few years past his. Floyd is in his. Frankie Randall was a few years past his prime. Tony Margarito was 21 or 22 when he fought a crafty vet, former champ in Randall. No shame there.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., widely regarded as the pound-for-pound king, will challenge welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir Nov. 4 in an HBO PPV main event at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

"We're very excited about fighting Baldomir," said Leonard Ellerbe, a Mayweather adviser. "It's the fight the fans want to see. Baldomir is coming off two major victories and the fans say he's the true welterweight champion. You have the 'Pretty Boy' coming to take away his welterweight championship."
