But it didnt go in THAT order did it. It went Sharmba a shopworn easy win. Zab, who lost his last fight. 7 months later, 35 year old slow Baldomir. Then 34 year old part time fighter full time businessman in Oscar.

In that 7month span Floyd could have picked up EASY Money Margarito. Instead he ducked like a chicken.

      De La Hoya>Judah>Margarito>Mitchell

Mitchell was a tune up. Judah and DLH are better than Margarito who couldn't win ONE weightclass above 147.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., widely regarded as the pound-for-pound king, will challenge welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir Nov. 4 in an HBO PPV main event at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

"We're very excited about fighting Baldomir," said Leonard Ellerbe, a Mayweather adviser. "It's the fight the fans want to see. Baldomir is coming off two major victories and the fans say he's the true welterweight champion. You have the 'Pretty Boy' coming to take away his welterweight championship."

Great you found the newsclip. I was 2 weeks off going from memory. It still doesnt vindicate Mayweather. He STILL could have fought Tony last summer.

            Against a nobody...

Mayweather has gone up weightclass after weightclass.

Tell me what month Floyd could have fought Margarito? July? He just fought Judah in April, and he injured his hand.

you cannot state that DLH at 34 is "a few years past his prime" and that Randall is also "a few years past his prime" at 39.

If Oscar is "a few years past his prime" at 34 then Randall at 39 has to be "shot to pieces".

              Two sidenotes:
Randall was never on the level of De La Hoya.
Mayweather at 21 was already lineal champ at 130...

July or August. He still could have fought Baldomir in November/December or even January. DLH would still be waiting in May.

He hurt his hand in April. As I said earlier, most fighter hurt their hands in fights. It wasnt reported as broken. Can you find the clip stating it was broken? Probably not. It was HURT.

Different people have different primes... Lennox Lewis prime came when he was well in his 30's. Mike Tyson's prime was his late teens early 20's.

Frankie Randall's prime was in his early 30's. He won the fight of his life against Chavez at around 33.

So is fighting DLH a prerequisite for fighting Mayweather. Or even simpler, how many guys did Zab fight that were on the level of DLH? Same question with Bruselles?? Mitchel? N'Dou??

Floyd has always had hand problems before. You talkin like he made it up out of the blue. Most elite fighters don't have a fight that close behind each other. Floyd is missing a knuckle on the right hand I believe.
I think Margarito had already signed to fight Clottey around that time.

Margarito didn't even headline his own fight...

and that was his last decent win...

by the time he fought Tony he was fighting mostly nobodies and losing to some of them. And let's add that while Tony is a big welter, Randall fought in his prime at 135-140

fighting DLH is a prerequisite for fighting PBF? why? I never wrote anything like that.

Beating "someone" is a prerequisite for fighting a 3 division champ? sure it is, it does not need to be DLH
