Arum: oops no more 8M, now they are gone, you guys are the same as last month but, now that I have to put my money where my mouth is, the 8M are mysteriously gone.

Mayweather signs to fight the man who beat the man in the same division for the money he was promised to fight the WBO titleholder.

    Ducking? LOL

The above makes little sense. The offer 8mil was offered to Floyd right after the Judah fight. There was a date in July set aside. The was all well BEFORE Baldomir fought Gatti. The 8mil was still there when DLH said he wouldnt be fighting anymore this year, which was around June/July 06. Mayweather had no dance partner at the time. He had no excuse. There was even talk of Mayweather facing Gatti again. Baldomir beat him to the punch there. Mayweather came up with, "my hands are hurt." He ducked. Tony started negotiations with Clottey and the rest was history...

      Exactly!!!

Margarito: Yo dude, I want to fight you.

      Mayweather: Homina Homina Homina...

Margarito: I got 8mil sez I can whoop you

Mayweather: Homina... 8mil... Let me see, that would be a career high payday for me at this point. Nah man, we can do it later when it will be bigger and better...

      Margarito turns away

      Margarito: What a *****...

Mayweather wipes his brow and runs to change his diaper...

        As things go....

Both Marg and Williams will be a good fight to watch this weekend. No doubt.

A classic boxer vs puncher matchup. Could end up being a trilogy?

But, as the saying goes: Anything can happen in boxing. Which makes it all the more intriguing for this fight.

Both have nearly identical win/ko ratios.

It would be great if we could see some knockdowns from both sides.

But, of course, KnockOuts are mandatory.

Looks to me to be a pick'em fight from what I gather from this thread so far.

One of them needs to get starched to put this rivalry on paper to rest.

This is NOT a classic boxer vs puncher. Williams is a brawler. He doesnt use his reach to his advantage and is as hittable as Margarito. 1st guy to land a big shot wins this one...

Williams hasn't had to use his reach to win fights up to this point. He's so good on the inside that he has decimated his opponents with left uppercuts and hooks. He knows more than anyone that he will have to be more careful against an opponent like Margarito. I wouldn't expect him to and make this fight a brawl on the inside because he probably can't knock Margarito out. We'll see.

Don't make the mistake of believing that these guys can't compete just because they lack the media hype of the more established names in the sport!
Neither Margarito or Williams have truly been tested. Margarito is a solid SLOW welterweight. He can punch but he would get outboxed from the outside all night. Margarito does nothing impressive. Floyd doesn't have time to waste against nobodies.

                    So do Fake Floyd.

                    And Fake Floyd ducked Margarito.

So enough with the double standards.
