the thing you dont understand is margarito is a real man and he dont hide behind his promoter. he went straight to that coward mayweathers face and challenged him in front of many boxing fans and mayweather turned him down to his face. i think margarito knew the moment he looked into maywathers eyes and saw fear that this man would never fight him for all the money in the world. when someone challenges you to your face and you turn it down that is cowardly and an obvious duck.

i thought it was called "professional boxing", not "high school".

The 8mil was still there when DLH said he wouldnt be fighting anymore this year, which was around June/July 06. Mayweather had no dance partner at the time. He had no excuse. There was even talk of Mayweather facing Gatti again. Baldomir beat him to the punch there. Mayweather came up with, "my hands are hurt." He ducked. Tony started negotiations with Clottey and the rest was history...

you can pick on the exact timing, but the bottom line stays, give or take a week or a month.
