I agree, I think Taylor is very open to being outworked, not unlike how he beat Hopkins. He didnt outbox Hopkins. He didnt out skill Hopkins, he outworked Hopkins.
The thing is, Hopkins throws about 12 punches per round. Taylor throws 30, if hes lucky. Pavlik throws atleast 50 punches a round, if not more.
When you are the pressure fighter, and you are the power puncher, and you are throwing that much more than your opponent, it will look like you are in control of the fight, even if you are not.
You are bound to land some punches with a high punch output like Pavlik has, and as hard as Pavlik hits, it will be very apparent to the judges when he lands.
It doesnt matter if he hurts Taylor, his head will get flung back and it will look like he is getting wrecked.
Taylors style is suited to win decisions against boxers, because he is wild enough to look like he is doing more damage, that wont be the case vs Pavlik.
The only way that Taylor can win is with his jab. If he brings his jab, Im pretty sure that he will win. He has a very good fast jab. However, you can ususaly see what a fighter will do based on his last few fight, and that doesnt bode will for Taylor. No jab.
If he trys to stand and trade punchs with Pavlik, he will lose. If he trys to outwork Pavlik, he will get tired and suffer a late round KO. If he goes to the ropes and tries to counter punch, he will lose. If he gets on his bike and jabs, he will win.
