Taylor Has No Chance Against Pavlik

Taylor was not overrated he used to have a good jab but he abadon it and that is why he looks bad

He abandoned it because it was absolutely worthless against Hopkins, who took the punch away from him with his defense.

He was actually smart to not use the jab against Wright. Not so smart to neglect throwing it against Spinks.

I think his "amazing" jab looked good against guys who were there to be hit by it.

Taylor has a great jab when he uses it but he strategically couldn't use it against Hopkins and Wright simply beat him to the punch with his own jab. Taylor definitely should have used his jab more against Spinks but that is in the past. I think it is a bit premature to count out the champ, in fact I think he should be the favorite right now. Yes Pavlik looked as about impressive as one can in his last fight but he surely hasn't faced the likes of Hopkins or Wright and whether you think Taylor won, lost, or drew he was very much in all of those fights. I'm not sure Pavlik would fare nearly as well against those guys. That being said I make Pavlik a live underdog and very much look forward to this fight.

Tell me other fighters who could SD with Hopkins and draw with Wright? There isn't many, and Taylor is one of them. You can't say that about Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, and all the other "all time greats".

excellent point. if anything taylor is underlooked as a champion. he also went the distance with hopkins twice and won both times (controversial or not). taylor will win this fight

Has Pavlik faced anyone as good as Jermain? Definently not Miranda who can't fight going backwards and hasn't developed some sort of defense. Miranda couldn't even tie up Pavlik. Both fighters can win this fight but I'm going with Jermain.
