Man this is straight blasphmy, no way you can say Pavlik will blow anyone outta the water when just a fight ago many of you where saying he would get blown out the water himself, the fact is Pavlik is a nice boxer and a part of me thinks he can and will beat Jermaine Taylor as well, but with that said, i know what Taylor is capable of and even if his last 3 fights have been somewhats duds KO wise, the guys is a put-up or shut-up type of fighter and right now he alone with back-2-back-2-back-2-back title defense against other formadable champs is impressing me even with the Spinks fight way more then any other champ ot there.. and i think Tayllr wins a UD over Pavlik as of now!

I want kelly to win as he sounds a real humble guy. But it wouldnt surprize me if he awaks a sleeping giant in taylor. If kelly tags taylor then taylor will attack kelly and because he's bigger and stronger then kelly he'll push him back and actually start to throw punchs whixh will result in a decision for taylor.

That's what happens when you have former lightweights fighting a FULL-SIZE Middleweight who should really be a Super Middleweight, if not a Light Heavy.

But Pavliks pressure is more relentless and brutal. And Taylor seems to fight going backwards without to much coaxing so it could turn into a real war in there.
I think Pavlik wins to, but thats more my heart then my head
Taylor does fight pretty good going backwards. He did it against Winky and even against the smaller man in Ouma he was fighting going backwards. Pavlik worked over Miranda because he forced him on his heels which he didn't know how to do. Taylor does. Even though I would like to see Pavlik win I think this fight will bring out the best in Taylor and he will be forced to fight. He will land his shots and use his athletic ability to get out of sticky situations and I see him winning a close UD or SD.

Taylor's style is to fight backwards. You see it a lot against Winky and Bernard. He needs to bring the jab back. Taylor will beat Pavlik. Just wait and see. Taylor won the first Bernard fight. Bernard didn't do **** until late. I thought the second fight Hopkins may have won.

How people would come up with Taylor by late stopage is beond me.

              Just look at the stats.

              Pavlik:
Hits harder with BOTH hands (28 of 31 wins by KO)
              Has a higher punch output
              Has a better chin
              Has a 1 1/2 inch height advantage
Has a 1 inch reach advantage

              Taylor:
Has a crisper jab, but less powerful
              Holds his hands low
Is a one handed pucher (only 17 of 28 wins by KO)
              Is the shorter man
              Has a reach dissadvantage
Has an advantage in natural athletic ability

Seriously, Taylor doesnt have a chance of winning this fight by knock out. He doesnt hit hard enough, and Pavlik can take a punch to well. Taylor will have to use his only real asset he has. His jab.

If Taylor gets on his bike all night (I dont think he has the stamina to do that) and pot shots with his jab, he will win a decision. Otherwise, he will lose. He will get outworked regaurdless if he is the better boxer or not.

I dont know why people are under the impression that Taylor is the bigger man either. Pavlik is bigger than Taylor.

It might just be habbit. After all, we are use to Taylor being the much larger man in all of his fights.

You make good points, think about this--if Pavlik has trouble making weight like Miranda did, he could be drained, and then it wouldn't take as much punishment to stop him. I think that is a possibility. Also, I mentioned he could get stopped on cuts, which would take only one clean shot by Taylor and then the jab worsening the cut to make that happen--a very good possibility IMO. Pavlik may have a solid chin, but he's no JLC, Zertuche dropped him.

I'll stick with Taylor by late stoppage.

he beat hopkins = hopkins waited too long to go offensive.
draw with winky = winky didnt apply enough pressure.
win over ouma = a much smaller jr middleweight actually pressured the "champion" into the ropes and gave taylor a real fight when taylor was looking for a knockout opponent.
win over spinks = one of the worst fights i have ever seen, period. 'nuf said.

taylor has gotten this far on athleticism and HBO money, nothing more. even the guys who he was supposed to blow over (spinks and ouma) made him look the fool. he cant punch, he cant box, hes flat-footed, he doesnt move his head, he doesnt throw combinations, he doesnt move around, he doesnt exploit an opponents weakness, he doesnt even go into a fight with a goddamn gameplan (besides trying to knock ouma out).

and this guy is supposed to outbox and decision kelly pavlik? yeah, good one.

dont even try to say "taylor fights the better fighters". in their contender phases, pavlik fought fulgencio zuniga, bronco mckart, and jose luis zertuche. not great fighters, but top 20 MWs who never before were stopped. oh yeah, and pavlik beat this guy called edison miranda, a fighter who people were saying "hes unstoppable" adn "one touch and you're out", a fight he was expected to lose. the best guys taylor fought when he was a contender was an old beat up raul marquez and a never-has-been title-holder william joppy. spoon fed his whole career.

pavlik is the all around better fighter. theres nothing jermain taylor can do to beat pavlik. he cant outbox him and he damn sure cant outpunch him. all it takes is a small breeze to back taylor into the ropes. and punishing his opponents on the ropes is kelly pavlik's bread and butter. even if taylor tried to tie pavlik up, pavlik is bigger, stronger, and unlike taylor, he can fight on the inside.

pavlik by TKO. this fight isnt even close.
I agree. But not by KO no way. And also i have seen Pavlik fight once only. An impressive win over contender Miranda. I also love the fact Pavlik apparently at 25, wants to fight the best (and has done so so far), unlike the likes of Cotto and Hatton who get enormous credit for fighting has beens and journeymen.
