I doubt it...history shows that boxers cant hang in MMA. Even though Mercer is washed up Kimbo is still 0-0 and never fought MMA and only trained for 3 months...thats pretty embarrassing if you ask me.
MMA, K1 and Boxing are different sports you worthless moron!!!!
It is like the pool champion V snooker champion.
Who would win if a 100 metre sprinter ran against a 1,500 metre runner?
God you are ******!
Also, MMA is not even close to a street fight, do you see any knives, bottles, bricks, belts. bats in the cage?
In a standup fight Lennox would win, but in a MMA fight Lennox would get crushed.
The Boxers I listed above have been training MMA for a long time now and they are A-B Level Boxers but C-D Level MMA fighters/
no they are C-D level boxers. Dont gibe me Botha was a former world champ, they may have billed him as that in k-1 but he wasnt. His title fight against Axel Shultz for the vacant belt was a no contest! He was old, fat and finished in boxing when he went to k-1. I read that Jens Pulver was a average pro boxer. He had 4 fights, all against people with losing records and the best had one win on his record. Please!
I remember turning on ESPN and everyone saying their gonna buy the next UFC and how much they liked "ALL THE FIGHTS BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT"
Boxing should take notes.
Why not stack a PPV card and put better fights on?
The DLH x PBF undercard was Joe Nobody vs Joe Who?
why not put the Cotto vs Judah fight on the undercard? and another big fight?
Paying $50 for one lame fight just doesnt do it anymore...
And the guys on the UFC undercards arent joe nobody from a reality show! lol. The difference is you believe the hype pal. The same way people get excited about some layabout from big brother, thats all these guys did to make their name.
Maybe Boxing should try bringing some of those guys over. Last time I checked...barley anyone is watching boxing anymore..
How many PPV buys did Judah vs Cotto get? 10k?...the worse UFC cards pull in 500k...
There are more boxing events happening all over, UFC hype up one card with all their fights, boxing spreads them out over single events, go add up all the boxing events. If boxing is dead how come that judah cotto fight was the biggest ever crowd in the Garden! People only come with this boxing is dead **** because dana white says so. Its his marketing strategy, he has been doing it since 2002 when he challenged ricky hatton when he took his first ufc show to london.
Ok I've read through 11 pages of that mms dudes crap. You mentioned it takes longer to get a black belt in brazillian jiu jitsu than it does to become WBA champ?
BJ Penn got his black belt in brazillian jiu jitsu in 3 years, then went on to become the bjj world champion.
Now name me a boxer who had never boxed before but within three years of taking up boxing he turned pro and became a wba champion?
If you look up stories of alot of mma fighters, they took up martial arts and within three years became ufc fighters.
Andrei Arlovski considered an A level Fighter, Ex- champion. had no fighting experience until he was 18, here's a pullout from ufc website:
"Andrei did not begin his martial arts training until he was 18. He was a soccer goalie until age 14 when he gave it up to concentrate on personal fitness. Later, he enrolled in the police academy where one of the required classes was Sambo. He showed great potential and was offered training on a more serious scale for competition. In 1999, after only a year of training, Andrei became a Champion of the European Youth SAMBO Championship as well as a Champion of the World Youth SAMBO Championship."
At 21 he made his ufc debut with only 3 years training in any form of fighting . Not only that, he did his training on the side whilst becoming a police officer. Show me a Champion Boxer that turned pro within three years of entering a boxing gym and became a champion in his career.
I'm on UFC's website just looking up good fighters to find some others with little or no previous experience and here is another one. Upcoming prospect rashad evans who is 15-0-0.
"When and why did you start training for fighting? I started to train in 2003 after I graduated from college. I love fighting so much and I figured why take the chance of fighting in the streets when I can get paid to fight in the Octagon. Even though the street fights are a lot of fun, I put it behind me and started to train with a true purpose. "
He made his debut in the ufc less than two years on in 2005.
I could go on and on.. but i dont want to bore you all.
So as you can see if you have talent, within 2-3 years you can fight in the UFC and become a future champion.
Whereas with boxing you must have talent, then you have to train for years, box Amateur for years then, maybe you maybe ready to box succesfully professionally. Then to aim to become a world champion (wbc/IBF) is a completely different mountain you gotta climb.
