Having said that I think Hatton had his feeling of invincibility jarred by the tough fight with Collazo, and I think he needed a bit of time and a couple of fights to get back into the game. A good performance on Saturday will put him back up there into contention.
Moving back down a division was a terrible move though. people would have bene more forgiving with a Urkal defense at 147 than a urango borefest at 140.

He was asked about a Floyd fight once. He just smiled and said "too small". Sounds terrified.

All I saw in that link was Floyd quietly mention his name and then come up with an immediate excuse as to why he couldn't fight him. We all know how Floyd acts when he really wants a fight, and that wasn't it.

What is the point of this thread canadajoe. Seriously fella don't do the same thing that $in does.

Hatton has a very good win on his resume, better than any single win PBF has IMO.....but PBF has about 8 wins that are better than any of Hatton's any other wins. That doesn't mean Hatton is crap, but why not concentrate on Saturday's fight, analysis of how Hatton is going to outbox castillo or how Castillo will land a big uppercut on Hatton and stop him etc etc.

Probably the last time ill ever see it.
** That's probably it. KT was a quiet champ even after his Judah victory. Fight teams came to him, not vice versa, and he was near the end of his career and injured a lot. He fought Mitchell because he had to, not because he wanted, a better Mitchell than Floyd fought and just caved him in more convincingly than Floyd.

The Hatton fight was strictly money, much more money than he could make against Floyd. People seem to forget that Floyd is not a big moneymaker. The fight KT was pointing to was Oscar, not Floyd, again, money.

Now Floyd has got more name recognition, but what's he gonna do with it? Hatton and Cotto are easily as big a name. Damn shame fights can't be made since everyone seems to be undefeated and in their prime, but Floyd has shown some reluctance to fight the best since moving to welt. To be fair, Cotto and Hatton were still developing, so the interest and money in such fights would've be premature, but it's sure there now.

You're right, good post. There's no point in creating threads like this to respond to $iN's threads - I should just try to discuss boxing, not repeatedly attempt to defend Hatton from his most obsessive hater.

                    Newsflash:

$in spoke to me, he says he will take a break from doing anymore threads on Ricky Hatton for a while, so hopefully the complaining can now end.

Canada Joe you now have little reason to get on his back, you got what you wanted.

I wonder if Hatton will be rated p4p #1 if he defeats Mayweather?
