I really don't buy it. I think Hatton seems better at 140 because the competition is so weak. Guys like Maussa and Urango would be nobodies at welterweight, yet they were titleholders at 140. Luis Collazo is a fringe contender at welterweight, but he would proabably be top 3 at 140 if he could make the weight.

And how exactly could it be easier for a guy who balloons up to 190 lbs. between fights to have an easier time at 140 rather than 147? It should be more demanding of his body to shed those extra 7 pounds. The fact is Hatton is just a good fighter in arguably the worst division in all of boxing. At 147, and maybe even at 135 if he could make the weight, Hatton wouldn't even be a factor...
