He can bully opponents and rough them up.

At 147, the guys are stronger then him and his strength is less of a factor.
Why didn't Cotto have the same problem when he moved up?

cause A) he fought an undersized welterweight in Judah, an overrated boxer in Quintana, a shlub in Urkal.

And B) Hes still extremely strong at the weight. His style is a brawler, and you need the strength advatage to be effective, especially when u have poor defense.

I disagree with almost everything thats been said here.

Hatton moved up in weight and fought a guy that towered over Hatton. AND was stonger then hatton to boot.

Hatton is a Brawler before he's anything else and after scoring that first round knockdown he brawled with a much bigger and stronger guy. Had he boxed like he did against Urango, its a Hatton late round KNOCKOUT.

Hatton EASILY has the TALENT to be a top 10 welterweight, but the SIZE would cause him to not make it. NOT THE TALENT.

Hattons timing is rediculous, his strenght and heart is admirable, and his power is wicked.

What most people seem to forget, is Hatton is and undersized JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT!!! His arms are stubby and hes very short. He carries no physical advantage into the ring besides his strength. At welterweight, he doesnt even have that

No way, you can't compare Urango to Collazo. I doubt Hatton could've out boxed Collazo.

Again there are many factors here. Its too hard to isolate 1 reason why Hatton struggled.

        1) Like DLT said Collazo is easily top 1 or 2 fighter Hatton has faced

        2) The extra weight pure and simple (although only 1 division up from where he started boxing).

        3) Limited time to acclimate to the weight

        4) Collazo's lefty slick boxer style

Depending on what were the biggest contributing factors you can come up with different answers to this thread. However too many variables to really definitively say Hatton is better at one than the other.

Judah is much better than Collazo and Cotto dominated him. You have to admit that...

And B) Hes still extremely strong at the weight. His style is a brawler, and you need the strength advatage to be effective, especially when u have poor defense.
I agree. But how can Cotto put on 7 pounds and still be the same fighter? He might even be a better fighter at welter. Then you have Hatton who puts on 7 pounds and all of a sudden he has no strength? Collazo was not a strong welterweight.

I disagree with almost everything thats been said here.

Collazo did not tower over Hatton they were roughly the same size. And as far as Collazo's strength, he has average power at best. If he was stronger than Hatton, that means Huggies is just weak...

Again, I don't think Collazo was stronger than Hatton. I think he was just too skilled for Hatton...

Hatton EASILY has the TALENT to be a top 10 welterweight, but the SIZE would cause him to not make it. NOT THE TALENT.
He is supposed to be top 15 P4P, one of the best fighters in the world. If he is that talented, he should be able to compete at a high level with 7 pounds on his frame. It's not like he started at 130...

Hattons timing is rediculous, his strenght and heart is admirable, and his power is wicked.

If his timing is "ridiculous" and his power is "wicked," I don't think 7 pounds would be enough to make it completely disappear...

            ooohhhhh!!!! wicked ownage....

            ridiculous timing??? wicked power

if he has heart, he should've stayed and shown more at 147 to get PBF's attention... not turtle back to 140...

P.S. Roberto Duran and Hatton have almost identical height and reach... look what Roberto has done...

I dont know. Nobody does know. Cos so far, he's only fought at 147 once. All this conversation will be rendered moot if he fights at 147 again (very likely) and wins in better style.

Yes, but he wasn't a different fighter at 135...
