nah not at all, im not singling you out by any means, i was just referring to the general attitude about him on bs. it just seems that nobody has much good to say about the guy... i just think everyone needs to realize that this is joe mesi's lifes work.. if hes not getting the proper opposition i highly doubt that its cause he doesent want it...

just the fact that he has gone through all he has gone through just to fight again is enough for me as a fan, in due time he will get the opponent he needs and im going to wait patiently and root for him when it happens.

like i said, there are plenty examples of world class fighters getting in with 5-6 guys in a row who were no-hopers and they didnt have any kind of reasonable excuse for it besides not wanting to fight hard for their opprutunities

He's going to continue having a hard time getting more credible opponents to sign until the overblown bull**** about his medical condition is put to rest. The fights he's taking right now are to stay busy, and to show that he's still serious about his career. When he can finally get a serious opponent to sign and isn't killed in the ring after a few hard shots, things'll be a little better for him. Honestly, I think he's got a superb chance against anyone other than the Klitchkos. In fact, I'd be willing to give 1.5 to 1 odds on him against Ibragimov, and 3 to one if he were to get Briggs to fight him.

I can buy that he's having trouble finding decent opponents here in the U.S. but I think that he'd have better luck overseas in Germany. There's a "dime-a-dozen" European hw prospects who would have no trouble taking a fight with a popular American hw like Joe. If hw fringe contender Brian Minto can go over to Germany and get two big fights with name opponents, there's no reason why Mesi shouldn't do so. Besides, the hw division is becoming stronger over there than in the U.S....

That would be interesting - but I think that Baby Joe should have a couple of more fights against better opposition before facing the big boys.

I love his honesty. When I spoke to him he said that he believes that he can beat 2 out of the 4 champs. At least he knows his limitaions. And he is exciting. You never know what is going to happen in one of his fights.

            ...

A nice humble man. OK, we know that Wlad is one of the two that he believes he can't beat. Who's the other?

How did you come to interview him, Mike?

If Mesi wants a shot at the title then he needs to have at least two fights with noteworthy opponents. He is a name and would garner a lot of interest. So if he can get himself in position he would be a popular opponent for one of the belt holders.
