    Joe Mesi

So what do some of you think about him? I saw his fight on versus. the one on the humberto soto undercard. mesi knocked out his opponent in 1 round so I cant say I have an opinion of him. He's undefeated, american, and a heavyweight, can he make some noise in the division?

It remains to be seen if he can come back to where he was before.

I first heard of him on the Russ Anber show (boxing Show) they did a special on him on how he had a sever brain injury possible blood in the brain and he still wants to fight. This guys is as bad as Shannon Briggs.

No he isn't. He suffered a life threatening injury in the ring and he has come back from that and is trying to knock out his opponents. Briggs has asthma and thinks this entitles him to do things like stand still, look tired, and throw under four punches a round.

Glad to see that someone else on this forum is interested in Joe Mesi. Anyways, here the deal with Mesi: Several years back, he suffered a subderal hemotoma, or "bleeding on the brain" after a tough bout with Vasily Jirov. As a result of the injury, he was sidelined for two years after having his boxing license revoked.

Fast forward to 2006, Joe Mesi annouces his comeback and has since won all of his 6 comeback fights albeit against extremely limited competition. Because of his limited competition, no one really knows how he'd do against some of the better fighters in the division. Rumor has it, he's scheduling a fight against tough journeyman Brian Minto sometime this fall.

he is was a coddled white american heavy with decent skills and good punch. Never a real threat to the belts.
