if we're talking about straight achievement since '97 then yes.
Is Hatton One of the Top 30 Fighters of the Last Decade?

i judge on cleaner punches and percentages...even so, ricky hatton didn't take much time after the decision to say he was shootin back to 140. i still kinda like ricky but top 30??Comment

Your prejudice against Brits is blinding you, so there's no point in my trying to convince you of the facts. Those IBO statistics are computer-generated, not someone's opinion. Hatton's opposition hasn't been as bad as you believe.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 05-15-2007, 05:34 PM.Comment

Seriously fan man you had Hatton winning clearly?
I had it 115-114 Collazo, although that was with 3 rounds going to Collazo that could have gone either way. So give them to Hatton and you have it 117-112 Hatton.
115-114 was the absolutely only score you could give Collazo, he clearly lost 5 rounds and was KDd.
Sorry for the slight veer off topic....Comment

I do like a bit of subjectivity. No doubt about that.
I'm not leading it down that way though. Thats just the way these things go because they are opinion based.
Like how the majority of people think that Hatton is a top 30 fighter of the past 10 years, but you dont. If we weren't allowing for subjectivity, then you'd have to admit to being wrong and go with the masses.
I disagree, the poll is still chaging, and its not representative of boxing scene as only a fraction of the posters have voted on it
Therefore it doesnt warrant a cast iron fact.

Well lists that aren't based at least partly on achievements aren't worth the paper they're written on - I may as well stick Amir Khan on there...
I've read lots of your posts, you're a good poster. But on this thread I think you've gone a bit wrong, especially if you think $in is a good poster. he's post4post top 5 worst contributor on NSB since I joined.
In fact I can only think of one that is above him while I come to think of it.Comment

30 Fighters Better than Hatton in the Last Decade, In no particular order:
Felix Trinidad
Bernard Hopkins
Oscar De La Hoya
Floyd Mayweather
Lennox Lewis
Evander Holyfield
Mike Tyson
Prince Naseem
Marco Antonio Barrera
Erik Morales
Manny Pacquiao
Shane Mosley
Ronald Wright
Ricardo Lopez
James Toney
Roy Jones
Virgil Hill
Steve Collins
Juan Manuel Marquez
Zab Judah
Joel Casamayor
JCC
Wilfredo Vazquez
Joe Calzaghe
Sven Ottke
Fernando Vargas
Kostya Tszyu
Diego Corrales
Pernell Whitaker
Jose Luis Castillo
In terms of accomplishments these guys are all ahead of him. (Not that he cant beat any of these, I think he will beat Castillo in their fight, but they have by far accomplished/achieved better than Hatton.)Comment

Great list, similar to mine, i hope you understand i have to be critical.
1) Steve Collins is NOT better than Ricky Hatton
2) Neither is Sven Ottke. Skills wise Ottke is better, but the waters have been murkied by too many screw-jobs in germany.Comment
