Yes but if he fought the competition Jones Fought, Toney, Hopkins, Tarver do you think he would still be unbeaten?

      I dont think so.

Dude Calz doesn't have a terrific resume. Calz is a terrific fighter and could've had a terrific resume but who are his biggest wins against? Lacy is is biggest fight and that doesn't equal a great resume for me. RJJ does have a terrific resume my criticisim is a fan's wish that he would've fought some of the other big names in Europe.

Oh and BTW RJJ criticisim is not because he doesn't have a good resume. RJJ has an excellent resume. His critics concentrate more on the opponents he didn't fight.
But those statistics imply that Calzaghe and Hatton have fought approximately the same quality of opponents as Mayweather, better than most fighters (check other boxers' statistics). Yet Hatton receives more abuse and criticism than any American boxer - $iN comes up with several anti-Hatton threads every day, and Calzaghe takes a disproportionate amout of abuse as well. If Joe and Ricky were American, it would be much less frequent and less severe.

if there are stats out there, that would lead people to believe that hatton and calz have fought the opposition that mayweather has, then they're flawed stats. simple.

Wrong he has fought everyone that Frank Warren has allowed him to fight. Calz has only defeated 1 prime undefeated fighter and that was Lacey.

Where do you rank his Lacey ring? It was the biggest win of his career and having Lacey as the biggest win of your career doesn't make it a great career.

Lacy was supposed to be the next big thing in boxing (according to you Americans)!

There is a Lacy vs Hopkins forum poll from '05 that Lacy wins hands down..

I'm sure I could make a program and play around with formulas to make Chavez Jr. look as if he has had a great career so far but the truth is Taylor at his young age has a better resume than Calz. Mind you I'm not saying Taylor would win but there is no denying he has fought the much better competition.

When you get your all-time hero (Sugar Ray Leonard) coming up to you and telling you that your performance against the man he tipped as being the next big thing is the best performance he's ever seen, then it must be pretty satisfying

When you get HOFer Barry McGuigan claiming you are the greatest British fighter ever (and I agree with Barry, btw), it must be pretty cool too.
