I don't have anything against Floyd Mayweather, but some of his fans seem to spend a lot of time discrediting my favorite boxers, especially Hatton (and sometimes Wlad and others). If I write anything negative about PBF, it's to counterpunch his fans shots at Ricky.

So let me get this right...your mad because he didn't dominate Oscar de la Hoya. The fact a WW beat up a Jr MW isn't good enough. the fact that he landed 57% of his power punches isn't good enough. Hell the fact that he landed more power punches than Oscar's total punches landed isn't good enough. The ring size, the gloves, the weight, the venue, none of that is good enough. Matter of fact another question, who has ever dominated Oscar De la Hoya?

Well don't bail him out next time... Let him man up and say what he means instead of being an indirect racist...

I'll reply even though I hug no one... I just recognize he is the best in the sport... As for him doing the bare minimum to win, what kinda crap is that... Why take risks you don't have to, to win? You wanted him to press the action so it could be entertaining for who? You? Casual fight fans? Casual fight fans want a knockout (look up - MMA audience)... Ok, let's say he presses the action... What if he gets knockout? Then you will say, "See, he's not that good" or "He's ******, he coulda just out boxed him"... Instead, you're on here still trying to figure out how you beat a guy who is 38-0 and where his place in history is among the all-time greats...
And add to the fact that he is 38-0 doing the minimum. Wow that's amazing!!

IMO, fighters are judged not only by who they have beaten, but the manner in which they won fights. Why take risks in a fight? Well, why the hell not? Floyd had the skills, speed, and stamina to put a huge beat down on DLH but instead, choose to fight the 'easy' fight. He couldn't came out of this fight looking like a true champion and fan pleaser but he's got no character and is an "arogant ****" to quote Anorak. Plus, Mayweather talked smack about how this fight would be a 'massacre' when infact he did the furthest thing from masscreing DLH. IMO, just a big dissappointment...

Anyway...Is Floyd Mayweather Unfairly Hated? Thread #213546521

by the same token his core fan base rarely ever acknowledge criticisms against floyd that might have some merit. No if you criticize floyd "youre not a true boxing fan" It gets annoying. For me personally Its hard to truly enjoy floyds fights, hes awesome when he shines like he did against Judah and like he did against DLH in spots...its just not that often I can really root for floyd.

With all the so-called disadvantages you mentioned, Floyd had the skills, experience, speed and stamina to dominate DLH but he lacked one thing: the courage to do so..
