I like Oscar, and I wanted him to win. Regardless though, I'm no Floyd hater by any mean, but I can see where all the hate comes from.

Floyd did piss me off by not being aggresive like De La Hoya.

If Floyd were to be his 'flashy, flamboyant FA LIFE' self in the ring and WIN, I wouldn't have any problem with the result.

I just hate how Floyd won. He didn't throw a single flurry until the final 10 seconds of the fight. His style was so boring, and so different from some of his previous fights where he would be offensive.

Obviously though, he didn't want to be a man and stand toe to toe with a guy who probably weighed 20 pounds heavier than him on the night of the fight. (148 vs. 165-170).

I'm not saying he should've gone toe-to-toe but he could've peppered DLH's face alot more than he did and been able to set up combinations which could've put Oscar down. When Floyd did connect he seemed to have had DLH stunned several times in the fight, he just didn't follow up. That's my biggest complaint about him..

I smell the awful stinch of hate on these boards often towards Floyd Mayweather... I don't understand how and why so many of you hate the best in the sport that you follow religiouslly... He is 38-0 and ya'll keep making excuses for why he wins... Oscar De La Hoya was supposed to be the savior and stop this guy because he really has never fought anyone but now, Oscar is "a faded opponent", "a once borderline great boxer", and "old, past his prime"... Not only that but, Floyd "barely" won (hahaha)... Please fellas, appreciate the talent we are all here to witness... He is a great boxer and by far the best we have in the sport today... I will not stomp on any toes and talk about his greatness in comparison to the all-time greats... That is all...


And for those that have a problem with anything I have mentioned in this thread...

I'll reply even though I hug no one... I just recognize he is the best in the sport... As for him doing the bare minimum to win, what kinda crap is that... Why take risks you don't have to, to win? You wanted him to press the action so it could be entertaining for who? You? Casual fight fans? Casual fight fans want a knockout (look up - MMA audience)... Ok, let's say he presses the action... What if he gets knockout? Then you will say, "See, he's not that good" or "He's ******, he coulda just out boxed him"... You want to know why there's so much hate on Mayweather on these forums? Well, I'll tell ya: Floyd has incredible skills but does not entertain boxing fans with his " I'll just do the bare minimum to win rounds" approach. Had Floyd been busier against DLH, he could've dominated and possibly 'massacred' him as he said he would. I mean, at the postfight interview, DLH's face was pretty unscathed and clean like he had just sparred not gone 12 rounds with the p4p champ. It's the 'just do enough to win and nothing more' attitude which generates all the hate..

I guess you've not seen too many fights in your life, every boxer say that they will massacre their opponent, most don't.

Didn't Oscar also said that he will KO Floyd I don't see you bitching about oscar.

This is boxing, not some ****** bar brawl.
