Induct Chico Into the Hall of Fame Right Away

For me he was, and would have been inducted anways,

The hall of fame is just that, Hall of FAME.

Its not Hall of the best fighters ever.

If Burt Sugar gets in there without ever fighting,

If Jose Suliman can get in there without fighting.

Diego Corrales gets in there for risking his life inside the ring every time he fought.

Excellent post. They flooding of letters and emails should show support, but it is doubtful it will get him inducted. However if they got an unprecedented number of requests for his induction on mention alone it would be a fitting tribute to Corrales. Ceuvas is not half the fighter Chico was and he is in the Hall of Fame. Beowolf you need to research some inducties before making blanket statements. Chico would be a shoe in, in the Hall of Fame.

Corrales certainly has the better resume, and beat the best fighters at his weight in Casamayor, Freitas and Castillo.

I wonder what his ex-wife will say about the how she would want Corrales remembered. A lot of people never looked at him the same after that.

He without sin cast the first stone, he had changed, done his time and it shouldn't matter since he showed character improvement. What would Monzon wife say, at least Chicos can still tell us.

Corrales was ALWAYS a nice guy, always friendly. I rarely even heard him say something negative about an opponent. He just had problems with women. He had a prior conviction for assaulting a female. Then he pled guilty to felony assault on the second, his wife who was "pregnant" and caused her a broken collarbone, two fractured ribs and a bruised spine. That was a vicious beating to say the least. He was actually seperated from one report I saw, from the current wife and who knows what the situation was there.

Usually this out of the ring crap doesnt matter to me, but it's a big part of Diego's career. It cost him two years away from the ring. Who knows what he could have done in two years or how much he lost going in. People say a fighter is never the same after coming out of the joint.

I'm sure Tyson will make it in the Hall, **** conviction and all. So will Mayweather, who had at least three cases of slapping women around.
