If DLH had either fought for mexico or had a more traditional mexican fighting style and not quite as "pretty", elusive, low risk style I believe he would've been accepted more by mexicans. DLH often fought low risk fights where he would be content to just win rounds. This was/is in stark contrast to traditonal mexican fighting philosophy which has been the willingness to risk taking one to give one.
You call Quartey,Trinidad,Mosley,B-Hop,Vargas, and now Floyd low risk? You've gotta be ****ing kidding me.

The typical Mexaican style is an all out blood and guts war where they get hit alot. Why would Oscar fight that way and take a lot of punishment if he could use his skill and not take that type of punishment. It's not like he runs from contact. He boxes uses his skill but also has the power to stand in and engage and do damage. If you ask me that is smart. There is a difference from running and avoiding contact and being a smart fighter that can box and stand in and fight. It's not like Floyd runnning around the ring unless it is a low risk opponent that has no chance.

        oscar is NOT Mexican.

with that being said, does that mean I cannot state the truth that Oscar will KO floyd ?

even after oscar kicks the **** outta floyd, oscar will still be a *****.

Hmm thats kind of odd.

Let me tell you, I am Mexican, and I lived in the bay for most of my life, and talked to 100s maybe even thousands of Mexicans a lot of which actually watch boxing, and not once did anyone OF THE ONES that doesn't like oscar ever use any of the reasons u just gave.

Loved Mexican fighters have come in all shapes an sizes and all types education levels, from dark to light, short, to tall, etc.

Actually, ill go deeper into how my opinion got formed. I was in the air force and stationed in san antonio during the Vargas fight. I went to a bar with some friends to watch the fight. Majority of the people in the bar were mexican, the girl i went with was mexican. Almost all of the people who were in that bar were for Vargas. Speaking mostly in spanish i asked why some of the people in the bar were going for vargas and some of the responses i got were hilarious, some of them said they hated him for the Chavez fight, others felt that De La Hoya wasnt "real" to them etc.

When i was about 12 years old DLH fought Rafeal Ruelas and my best friend growing up was mexican, so i watched the fight at his house, and his entire family was going for Ruelas, including my friend. At the time, i only really knew De La Hoya for being in the Olympics for the USA, so i went for him only based on that assumption. The dissapointment was huge when Ruelas got his ass beat in the 3rd round.

Whenever DLH is matched up against another mexican, it just seems like most mexicans dont go for him, period.

Spinks doesnt stand in there with anyone, hes a moving boxer with great footwork. Taylor Fighting spinks is low risk in terms of Spinks lack of power and his fading in the later rounds...in other words Spinks cant knock him out, but its not low risk in terms of Taylor potentially losing, because spinks is an A class boxer.

What you said has bnothing to do with Spinks being low risk for Taylor, your quote was that Spinks was low risk for Taylor. I don't even know why you are referencing Spinks anyway, this has nothing to do with him just detracting form Floyd.

In case there is any confusion this is the quote you left, and by saying this you are saying that Taylor is low risk for Spinks. You weren't saying that Spinks was low risk for Taylor, I think every boxing fan knows that.
