It's funny how everyone here is an expert on Mexicans and apparently surveyed all mexicans to figure out that the majority hate oscar and not only that but got the reason for the hate too.

Most of us are going upon the interaction with have with you. Seeing as how so many of you are here, most of us know at least 10-20 mexicans within their schools/workplace/friendships etc. Living here in oakland, i can definately attest to that.
every fighter comes in the ring comes represent himself and his belief first then the other things come through
Mex, PR , Indian, European...etc all that **** doesnt matter when your down because most people are going to throw you away after that like they tried to do with Roberto Duran after his loss to SRL and when he won him they came back like cheerleaders and they say his if true latino fighter.
Here is the fact in the whole issue fans just someone to hold to and if he is lost they go to another guy all the bull**** abou only mexician is something not releavant.
and many mex are similar to DHL and rich and successful which is why all the hate comes from because he has what others dont which there are envious about same with Mayweather
If the boxing community south of the border, or those who strolled on in to L.A. for that matter, don't back DeLaHoya on Cinco De Mayo, they never will.....

So you are telling me that the national consensus about why SOME Mexicans don't like Oscar , and this is according to ur own words, is that he speaks proper English, and he conducts himself in a gentlemanly way because of other 10 - 20 Mexicans that you have talked to. Hmm thats kind of odd.
Let me tell you, I am Mexican, and I lived in the bay for most of my life, and talked to 100s maybe even thousands of Mexicans a lot of which actually watch boxing, and not once did anyone OF THE ONES that doesn't like oscar ever use any of the reasons u just gave.
Loved Mexican fighters have come in all shapes an sizes and all types education levels, from dark to light, short, to tall, etc.
So do mine. I find myself telling peopel all the time that oscar owes nothing to mexico, and as long as he fought on the american olympic team bringing home the gold, and making his life here in america, i got alot of respect for him. Just because he speaks proper english and carries himself in a respectful manner doesnt mean hes a ****in Maricon or a *****, or a "fake mexican".
Vargas went on and on about how real he was and all he got was a real ass whippin
All the Mexican adults I know love Oscar De La Hoya, to me its always been the younger ones or the cholo type ones saying Oscar is ghey.

They have always backed him, what are you talking about? Just look at all the Mexican fans that have packed the seats at his fights and all the pro Mexican boxers that are behind him.
There is a commercial for the fight that shows people doing different things, like skydiving and climbing mountains, and they say MAYWEATHER or DE LA HOYA. Then the narrator asks who do you choose? And Floyd says "Mayweather, absolutely", and Oscar says "De La JJJJJJoya"
It's **** like that that makes the Mexicans not like him. In spanish, the "h" at the beginning of words is silent, in english, it has the spanish "j" sound. Oscar speaks spanish and his parents are from Mexico, so his mispronouncing his own name is a huge sign of disrespect. Americans pronounce it that way because they do not know the spanish language, and his saying it that way is totally unnaceptable. He speaks all this **** about "mi raza", referring to himself as a Mexican and Latino, and it's all an act to get their support. He's just like Alex Rodriguez, saying hes American, then when the Dominicans got mad he said he was Dominican and he'd play for them in the WBC, but played for the USA.
