Are the Mexicans adopting DLH for this one?

Good post. I have a lot of Mexican friends from work, and they really aren't talking about this fight as much as they have for some of the other fights (Morrales vs. Barrera, Pac vs both of them). I think DLH has got a lot of hate from the Mexican community. ****, I won a pretty good amount of money on the DLH vs Tito fight. But I felt bad for taking the earnings because Oscar WON that fight. Even though he got on his bike for the last three rounds, Oscar outpointed Tito. I think its the warrior, pride thing that gets Mexicans mad when Oscar dosen't close the show. But for all that, look what he did against Quartey, Vargas, and Mayorga. Oscar is a HOF'er in my book. I still think he is going to be in alot of trouble come May 5th...

What is it about him that doesn't make him Mexican or makes Mexicans not like him? If I was Mexican I would be proud to have a wealthy, well spoken and good mannered dude represent me because he breaks the stereotype of a typical Mexican. I noticed with alot of my Mex. that if you don't act a certain way or dress or "act Mexican " they cast you out or shun you.. Either way, Oscar is American before he is Mexican.

I think a lot of it goes back to Oscar pummeling the hell out of Chavez. I think that's where plenty of it stems from that & the whole olympic thing. I personally think it was a smart move for him to rep the USA. Would you think he would've had this much exposure if he had rep Mexico? I think not.

How can mexican be proud of dlh when dlh is ashame to be mexican....by supporting dlh you are agreeing to being ashame to be mexican....how many puerto ricans have you seen walk to the ring with a mexican flag.....Oscar has never helped his community but has help and donated to puerto rican charities...what does that tell you?...he may be mexican but he is puerto rican at heart.....that is why I hope gayweather beats him...

I was born here in the usa but i have mexican descent and I support de la hoya,my father is mexican and he supports de la hoya aswell,He tells me that the only reason some mexicans dont like oscar is because he beat chavez.

yeah....everybody here amazingly thinks oscar was always rich....and they hate him becuase he beat chavez and cause he is a handsome man(no **** ****...)....i personally like him more than chavez and think he is a better fighter...

yup,I never really considered chavez sooo good like they make him out to be I think salvador sanchez was better than chavez,yeah and I also like oscar more than chavez.
