I'm not totally defending the UFC here, but they do have a totally different business model in SOME ways. Say you have a WBC HW title fight, it's up to the boxer's promoters to promote the fight. Not the WBC. The UFC has to promote their own fighters. The fighter's do not have promoters in the same way boxers do. That promoting is not cheap.

This is my 'shot in the dark' theory. UFC wants to be legal in states and not banned again, so naturally they will need money to bribe media and politicians. Once everything is legalized through bribing, paychecks can increase since UFC would now have some safety. They probably still want some financial security just in case someone dies in the octagon.

Well, he's can be annoying, but he is good at promoting fighters, and he knows what the fans like, and when they like it. He also did a good job in creating a successful business model for the UFC. Overall, he's not the friendliest towards the fighters, but he gets things done. I'd say he's good for the UFC.

If you really believe that, you are either not too smart or you have no idea of the real facts.

I'm no nutrider of his, but when the Fertita's bought it and put him in charge it was a fringe sport banned in many states and losing money fast. Now it's legal in most states, it's making tons of money, it has a successful TV show (TUF), it employs people like Marc Rattner and fighters purses are ALOT bigger than before the Fertitas bought it.

And before Dana White took over guys like Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbott and Don Frye were going into pro wrestling for the money. Now pro wrestlers like Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar are looking at getting into the UFC.

Hmm... Sounds like that other sport they call boxing(lol). My point is not how boring or how good the entire card was. The fact that the UFC showcased a fighter of Cro Cop's stature on regular cable. When did boxing last do this????

Someone also mentioned that MMA does not replay its PPV fights a week after like a Premiumcable channel like HBO does. Well, when has boxing's PPV fights been replayed a few months later on regular cable? The answer is NONE. I mean, us boxing fans can only take so much of Ali-Foreman played every single Friday on ESPN2.

I mean, wouldn't be cool if we atleast saw one of the TOP 10 P4P fighters fight on one of the regular cable channels, umm those fights on VERSUS don't count. I also love how the UFC always does a feature on one of its top fighters. Boxing don't do that ****, boxing fans get treated to Brian Kenny and his "special guest host" . See that's exactly the problem, boxers should not be hosting, they should be getting interviewed, followed around for a day, ya know.

Well the fighters going into MMA know that the money is less than boxing. Also consider this, MMA is not as bad on your body as boxing is. Too many boxers have speach, memory, and motor skill problems caused by boxing. In MMA there is a guy named Jeremy Horn, he has over 100 fights and is still very sharp. Show me a boxer with 100 fights and no visible ill effects.

Also, alot of MMA guys are getting lucrative endorsement deals. As for top talent, like it or not, UFC has most of the top MMA talent under contract.
