I am also a casual UFC fan. I like it, but it doesn't compare to boxing for me. UFC does well because its the trendy thing right now and also has a hit TV show on spike " The Ultimate Fighter". Most fight are over pretty quick and they either end in KO or submission. That's intriguing to a lot of people. It seems most people in my generation and lower have short attention spans and they can's sit through 12 rds of boxing. They don't see the sweet science of boxing and only look for the brutality.

HBO is not basic cable. I remember watching boxing on 'Wide World of Sports' on Saturdays when I was a kid. Having nearly all the big fights on PPV has made boxing lose alot of fans, in my opinion. Also, UFC has so many big names under contract and Dana White does put the big names against each other. Boxing has had so many HUGE fights that never happened, or happened years too late, because of the various promoters, managers, sanctioning bodies, etc.

If you are a sport that does not put the best-vs-best, and your main competitor constantly does, you are fighting a losing battle.

IF that was a TREAT, a miserable card must be unwatchable!!!

The majority of the fights were miserably boring and/or onesided.

what i dont understand about their supposed buyrates is the fact that they dont pay their fighters anywhere near what the top boxers make
