jangeorg, janeorg what am i to do with you? Joe can box Kessler at somepoint. I want it...and i guess you want it. Kessler is very very good...but even you have to admit i dont think it is quite a superfight yet. If Kessler continues doing the good work he is doing him and Joe can one day be a superfight. That is if Kessler isnt exposed by a nobody in the near future, and because Kessler is a good fighter i dont think he will be exposed. But lots of boxers who have great potential do lose to people they should beat. It happens all the time.
Joe has been winning for 10 years and hasnt been exposed as of yet, and that is why he deserves credit. It might happen when he boxes Manfredo, but i doubt it very much.
If Kessler is great he wont be exposed and he will have a very good reputation one day,and even be a top p4p fighter in the world like Joe. If Joe boxes and beats Kessler all he would have done is beat another boxer people thought was dangerous but turned out not to be as good as people thought. Let Kessler be a great fighter before fighting Joe, and to do that Kessler has to beat a few more people.
Understand? Good man...i knew you would understand!

Calzaghe turned 35 a few days ago. When is he going to fight Kessler? It may not be a big mega fight stateside, I agree, but boxing as a whole- even European boxing- deserves the fight. When will they fight, in a year or two when Joe is 37, his career almost over, and Kessler is like....30? Hmm. That was Calzaghe back in 2002. Quite some time ago now. That ticking is the sounds of Calzaghe's career winding down. He needs to take the fights he wants before his abilities begin to slide.

Calzaghe took a page out of Roy Jones Jr's book of boxing .You take safe fights pad you record , only fight big names when their past their prime or trumped up names like hit me again I have no defense Lacy, make alot of money and retire healthy. Hey boxing a brutal sport with no retirement so I don't blame Joe for looking after himself and his family, But!! Kessler is the real deal and is in his prime if Joe doesn't fight him soon they'll never meet. Calazaghe is 35 years old with fragile hands I think he'll retire before fightiing Kessler unless there is a truckload of money on the table. That being said I'd LOVE to see the fight.. WOW!!!

Why does everyone try to take credit off certain fighter? Was it that Lacy was blown up, or was he just not as good as Joe? Irony of ironies being that if Kessler does defeat Joe, I'll be the first person in line deciding to take it away from him because 'Joe was past his prime'. It only seems fair.

Well how come Kessler is allowed to fight mexicans ive never heard of and its alright?
All ive been trying to do is explain why Joe might not want to fight Kessler at this moment, because people are saying Joe is ducking Kessler. And im saying ducking is probably not a good word to use. Joe has other more attractive options. Ive said his about 10 times by now!!
Lets say for arguments sake Froch wants to box Kessler but Kessler wants Joe and Kessler dont want Froch. Does that mean Kessler is ducking Froch? Well...i would say no it doesnt mean Kessler is chicken of Froch and ducking him. Just that Joe is a more attractive proposition for him. The Froch fans will say Kessler is ducking him. But Kessler fans will say Froch hasnt proved himself or something like that. Look at it like that.
Good man. I am trying to educate you. If you have any other queries i will always be here for guys like you.

But try reading my posts properly. I have said i would like to see JOe and Kessler. So i aint scared...not at all.

we will certainly find out after calzone fights manfredo (assuming he wins). after that, there should be absolutely no excuse for one last unification match.

I usually get annoyed with people who do this, but I'm not going to even read this thread because I think the answer is painfully obvious. No. He has not been ducking Kessler. I love to rip on a Brit fighter just as much as the next guy when British fans are around, but come on... He has had no reason to fight Kessler until now. The dude had next to no publicity. Saturday night was the first night most people had seen him fight. Why would Joe C have fought him? Do you think anyone really cares about the ABC belts so as long as they have one? Not many do.

Now, if 18 months goes by and Calzaghe still has no fight with Kessler in the works, yes he is probably ducking him. But up to now? Hell no.

Don't even compare Marciano to Calzaghe. Marciano beat everyone there was to beat during his time. It's not his fault a true great wasn't around. Calzaghe has had great fighters in and around his weight class, but he's never chosen to fight any of them...
Joe is ranked higher than Kessler though, so it will be Kessler who gets all the credit if he beats Joe. It is more of a challenge for Joe to beat guys who are more highly rated than himself. Why are you still giving Joe a hard time for wanting to fight other people? Ok Manfredo is bad but after him, you will love some of Joes opponents i gurantee you that.

I had to compare the rock and Joe. Joe record is as good as Marcianos because the rock didnt beat any great boxers who were in their prime. And Joe hasnt beaten the very best around yet. Again he is going after those guys and your still not happy. You want him to go after Kessler.

Calzaghe is #1 at 168. How can he fight someone higher? He has to fight the top contender and Kessler is the #1 contender. We don't want to see Calzaghe fighting middleweights...
