Yep Kessler is deserving of a shot, but the bottom line Joe would prefer to box other people. If that is what you call ducking, ok Joe is ducking Kessler. But why not then? People have ducked Joe all his career and denied him a superfights! Roy Jones ducked Joe and ran to heavyweight you could say. PBF is ducking Hatton do you think. Theres always a reason for why boxers not boxing other boxers. Ducking is not a word i would like to use. That is a bit harsh. But until the politics of boxing changes what can we do? Joe has been after Hopkins, Jones, Tarver, Glencoffe etc etc for years and they still havent happened. Why should Kessler get Joe tommorrow. I didnt even know who kessler was 6 months ago.

Consider me to mean the collective term of 'you' referring to the Calzaghe critics on the forum who obviously dont read the thread before responding with the same stuff people have been saying for the past 10 pages and getting the same responses in return.

Look Kessler is the next big hyped fighter, he is an animal, incredibly strong! But people on here are saying that Calzaghe has fought **** fighters and Kessler has beaten some good names! Then they say Beyer (who everybody outside of Germany's knows is one of the most static, boring fighters ever who also happens to be well past his best), Lucas (who again was well past it by that stage), Andrade (decent fighter but really nothing special). If anything they have both done the same thing in a divisionwhich doesnt really offer many opportunities for big name fights. People need to relax with all this..........there is no damn way that Calzaghe fears fighting Kessler. Calzaghe is one of the ****iest, self confidents *******s about. I mean the Sven Ottke fight never got made (would people really say Joe was afraid of or dodging Ottke???) HELL NO! And they were both calling each other out all the time! Plus I have heard Calzaghe mention Kessler in press conferences, so he obviously knows who he is and what he is about!

If Calzaghe is dodging the Kessler fight it is probably a temporary thing.........a business thing. Especially with that **** Warren! We dont know what is going on behind the scenes, who's talking to who etc etc. But I really think this fight will be made at some stage!!!!

Lets everyone agree that Joe is possibly ducking Kessler, but certainly not for being scared of him, or thinking he cant beat him.
Happens all the time in boxing. There are so many fights boxers can have. And we know Joe is spoilt for choice.

I don't think Calzaghe believes he simply can't beat Kessler. But i do think it's likely he sees loosing that fight as a quite realistic outcome - and therefore not a risk he wants to take. (We can then debate if that's ducking or just being smart).
If he actually saw winning it as a dead certain thing, there'd really be no good rerason at all for not persuing it - as it would almost certainly get him as much money and (definitely) recognition as f.x. the Bika fight.

Quite simply i think Calzaghe for a long time, has been far more aware of (or atleast suspected) what kind of threat Kessler actually poses, than his fans have.

Yeah, Kessler has two belts!!! Calzaghe only has one now since he gave up his ibf belt. And nor Calzaghe or Kessler have been ducking each other. Kessler wanted calzaghe to fight in his country. While Calzaghe wants Kessler to fight in wales. I personally think if Kessler wanted Calzaghe so badly that he'd go to wales to fight him, seeing how Calzaghe has been a champion way longer then Kessler. And Calzaghe is more of the deserving one but KESSLER will bring up an excuse like!!! I have two belts though. BIG whoop, you want to fight the guy whos been champion for this long, then fight him in his own country you coward, unless you feel that you'll lose in wales and cry like a baby when you do.

There is no excuse joe calzaghe could give, if Kessler fought in wales. No excuse at all, I'd lose respect for calzaghe if Kessler decides **** it I'll fight you in your own country and I'll beat you there(What kesslers mind-set should be, thinking he'll beat calzaghe infront of all calzaghes fans)... Yet, if Kessler was so confident why doesn't he go to wales? Joes been the champ this long, how long has kessler been champ like 2 or 3 years? hahaha

And Kessler's manager (Palle) has repeatedly ASKED (directly, on website and through media) for Warren to make them an offer for a fight in the UK. Palle won't make the actual opening offer for a UK fight, as he says it's Warren's turf.
Warren won't make such an offer. Probably because whatever he's prepared to offer would look ridiculously cheap in the eyes of the wast majority (anyone outside UK really), and he knows Palle would probably make the offer public. Better to NOT make an offer, than to be ridiculed for making one.

In your honest opinion do you think Joe is avoiding Mikkel Kessler??

Kessler owns two of the 3 major belts, the WBC and the WBA, so why this fight isn't happening??
Im not sure if ducking is the right word, but Joe certianly seems to be extremly hesitant to make a fight with Kessler.
